So what are your plans for Christmas?

We are heading to SIL place on Xmas eve.. Having a Xmas eve dinner at the inlaws (thats worthy of a vent) then Xmas day at SIL and then home that afternoon.

I am looking forward to Xmas this year as the kids are older so we can all relax a bit more.. and SIL has a pool :)

There will be 21 people all together.. Us 6 SIL BL + 2 kids, BIL, SIL + 1 kid.. inlaws, my mum and 3 of her kids she has in her care at the moment (foster carer)

So many people always make it better :lol:

I love Christmas and how excited the kids are..

So what are your plans?

I'm heading down to the holiday house to do a bit of maintenance. The seal in the cistern needs replacing so that's my first job then I want to put some shelves up and if I get time build a work bench in the garage.

It'll just be the four of us which I'm really looking forward to. Due to the nature of our jobs either DH or myself has had to work Christmas Day as long as we've known each other, so this will be our first one together! So just having a nice relaxing day, watching Moo open pressies, I might attempt my 2nd ever roast. We'll be seeing my side of the family on the 27th which is lunch at my place :D

DP's cousins tomorrow night for a catch-up & gifts, mums family day an hr+ away on Sunday, my cousins x-mas eve to see some friends and relo's (my cousin is dp's best mate) then x-mas morning at home, then lunch with DP's family at SIL's.
We all bring food, do a BBQ & seafood (blergh ;p ) and the kids have the day with their cousins.
Then in the following days we will take the girls for a couple if days to see my family 2hrs away... Busy busy!

Waking up extra early so the kids can unwrap gifts, having breakfast then driving up to my mums house on the Mid North Coast NSW where we will have Christmas with my family. All up there will be about 25 of us. We will also be camping on my Mums property. This will be the first Christmas we have had with my family since 2008. There has been 4 extra children born in that time, 2 of them mine! We're all really looking forward to it.

I'm working all day xmas eve so xmas day having a very quiet one! Spending the day playing with DD's toys, listening to music so singing and dancing while eating a whole lot of food! My brother is spending the day with us too which im excited about its my first chrissy with him for a few years and he is looking forward to playing with DD as well!

A quiet one at home...just the three of us. If Santa is able to make a decision on which car will replace my current one and can fit it in his sleigh, then we'll do some day trips in the days following Christmas Day...but first one must decide on a car!

We WERE suppose to be having my parents arrive Boxing Day for a week but they separated last week and it has become very very messy so we have had to say we would rather neither of them came until they have settled down a bit.

Breakfast with DD & DH in the morning & opening ours gifts (well it's all about DD!) then to my mums for lunch. We get there a bit earlier to help out with the cooking etc.... then we usually open presents and lie around kicking back doing not much until we go home & get spruced up a bit to spend dinner with Dad & his wife.

MD that's a bit sad :( :hug:

My DH is a bush policeman, so we were going to spend Christmas in his community. The boys that work under DH bought the kids a Christmas tree and they even got this fat chick a huge pool so I wouldn't be too hot. We were planning on taking some lollies and games out to the community kids and a nice lazy day.

However, now I've been quarantined to within 20 minutes of the hospital, so we are staying here. However those same gorgeous boys are coming into town as well and we'll probably have an orphans Christmas. There's lots of nomads here.

After having spent Christmas day doing the same thing for well over 20years, our new Christmases have been just as exciting and happy, even though we don't get to spend them with our families. Actually it's even more relaxed as all the family politics is gone. And we're still spending it with people we love and who mean a great deal to us.

DD was worried Santa wouldn't find her, so she's a bit relieved lol.

Christmas Eve may be my work staff party (boss still hadn't organised it!)
Christmas Day, spending it with my ILs :) Gonna be a fun day! :D
Boxing Day, spending the afternoon with my dad and grandmother + then having dinner with old workmates of mine :)
27th, most likely working. 28th, 38wk midwife appt ;)

First Christmas here without seeing any of our families!
But it is our first christmas with our little family!
We will open DD's presents in the morning, have breakfast, head to church then have a lunch in the afternoon with another couple who we are good friends with, then of to hubby's best mates house who just moved up here for christmas festivities (read: drinking lol)

Should be a great day!! :D

Christmas eve I'm hoping some friends will come up and I'll take an hour or 2 away from the hospital to have dinner and a wine :)

Xmas day will be bittersweet. I will be spending the day at the hospital with my only living son. I'm so grateful he's here for xmas, but a bit upset we are in hospital. Ronald Mac house are putting on a chrissy lunch, so I'll eat there with the other Mums that are stuck here for xmas too.

Blessed: I imagine spending it in a hospital environment would be upsetting but I hope you have a great day

I can't believe Xmas is so close. It's been shoved in our faces for weeks now and felt like it was ages away and now it has snuck up on me :lol:

Christmas eve - drinks and nibbles with friends.

Christmas Day am having all the inlaws and a few orphans here for lunch (about 20 people or so). Dinner will be very, very quiet with just me and DP (DD goes to her father at 5pm :( ) My side of the family is scattered across the country this year so I wont see any of them :(

Then Boxing Day just me home by myself. No doubt I will be cleaning :)

Christmas Eve we will head over to my parents to stay the night then Christmas Day there, can't wait :)

I'll be doing whatever I feel like. :p Because I'm the one that's going to be 39 weeks pregnant on Christmas Day!

So the plan is, wake up, open presents, DP cooks breakfast and then everyone asks me what I feel like doing. Somewhere in there it also involves DP making a roast turkey and lunch/dinner. I'll consult with the baby (hopefully still firmly inside my uterus) as to if there'll be anything further (like a visit to MIL). If one of us says 'no', then we'll be happy to be left alone for a couple of hours while DP does it with DD.

If the weather is sunny and warm (which would be unusual given recent temps!) then I'm also thinking I should wallow in the pool for a while. Bliss!

On Christmas Eve we'll go to our church family service.

The life of a cake maker :( I'll be making mini chocolate ripple cakes coated in chocolate and decorated with ribbon and a top tier vanilla - chic swirl cake decorated with fondant for a 75th on boxing day.

Due to the volatility in the Ducky family we won't be doing lunch but will do dinner with my dad so I'll be promptly getting up at the butt crack of dawn waking dd to open presents /see the play centre outside then dh can clean up while I work so hopefully we can chill at lunchtime and watch a citch Xmas movie while we have our own little lunch together.

I'm actually looking forward to staying home this year - would be nicer if I didn't have to do a cake though :)

DH will be working :(

My day will involve popping over to see my parents for a little while in the morning, coming home and watching Christmas cooking shows (and more than likely some dodgy kids Christmas TV too). The afternoon will be spent on DD's new trampoline...
