UTI/Bacteria Discovered
Hello everyone!!
Im 37 weeks preggy, and last 3 weeks ago i had a swab test and my ob told me that i had a bacteria which could be resulted to urinary tract infection. He prescribed augmentin, and i have a urine test last week and i found out this morning that the result was clear. I havent felt any itchiness only a bit painful after pee.
He told me to continue taking augmentin til friday and he said there wouldnt be a problem or effect on the baby.
Has anyone had an experience like this?
Just a bit worried...

Yeah i also had a UTI at beginning of my 3rd trimester. I was put on antibio - maybe augmentin as well and it all cleared up. I was told it was safe to take during that stage of the preg, but because i get reoccuring UTI's - about 1-2 a yr i was put onto a kidney specialist and saw him a few times throughout the rest of the preg (still seeing him actually!) Hope it all clears up for u :)

I had a few of these with my first pregnancy and also pretty sure i have one now(im 29 weeks) I just did a pee sample at the doctor today and will get the results tomorrow, if i do have one i've got the antibiotics ready. Apparently it is quite common in late pregnancy to get UTI's.

I had a scare over the weekend of threatened preterm labour turns outit is from a UTI which was causing my uterus to be irritable, I had no symptoms of a UTI except peeing a lot which as you know with being pg is goign to happen anyway

Gee, scary that you can have a UTI without knowing! The best ways to avoid one are appearently drinking tonnes of water (which makes the frequent peeing thing much worse!!) and peeing as soon as you need to.

drinming tons of water didn't help me I drink on average 3 litres + a day a at least a litre during the night LOL

Cranberry juice is what we give residents for thier UTI's at work (aged care), plus lots of water.....
