I found out a really interesting fact yesterday...
Between 2 and 3 years of age, boys get a huge surge of testosterone. At this time they're overall testosterone levels are actually higher than they will be when they go through puberty.
Just thought I would share, because it is certainly ringing true at our house.
File that one away for six month's from now... when I am tearing my hair out, I'll try and remember this :)

Makes sense as master nearly 2 is a feral and mean child at times! Master 3 never been so mean.
wow - i always joked about DS getting surges of testosterone but to know it's not only true but must be sky high...well, it makes me feel alot better!
My little man is two in afew weeks it I think the surge has already hit!!
With a two year old boy and a 15 year old that is a lot of testosterone flying about :lol:
How does this manifest itself?
In my house it's lots of growling, roaring, physicality, unintentional aggression... Hard to describe really, he just seems really primal in his behavior if that makes sense.
Happens again at 4 - apparently the testosterone levels double and then settle back down again. It is very noticeable - one day you have a nice sweet kid, the next you have some growly, physical, competitive mini-man!
Ah. Yeah, I think we're doing that here as well. Nearly 4...

Does that mean when my daughter gets to 2 she won't squeal uncontrollably, throw things and lash out during tanties like my son right now? ;)

I was also 'told' this, but approx three weeks ago i borrowed a great book from the library about boys and it had a graph of testosterone (that took me a while to spell :wall:), and this showed that testosterone did NOT surge in such young boys. They referred to this as a myth.
Dunno, i liked it as a good excuse for my boys!
