Birthing again after VBAC questions...

My appologies if this has been asked many times before, I can't seem to find any of the posts relating to it, but what is a birth after VBAC called? Is it 2VBAC? Or VB2AC? It's really confusing me right now lol

I am aiming for another vaginal delivery this time, I have a "feeling" this baby will come sometime in June instead of early July when it's due (I knew DD would come on the 30th, but never had these feelings with DS who never wanted out anyway so I'm starting to trust my body now), and while I have been fantasizing about having an unassisted home birth I am being realistic in planning another hospital birth (can't afford an IM or doula, so it's just me and DH and whatever midwife we get assigned in the hospital through our public shared care program again this time) especially as I am not able to cope with much pain at all.

I am still high risk this time though due to my irritable uterus and a cyst on my ovary that may need to be removed with surgery sometime in Jan/Feb, so I know they will insist on monitoring while in labour which I don't want this time as it feels so much more painful having the straps on during the middle of contractions.

What will I need to have in my birth plan this time? And what will I need to bring up with my OB when I see him on the 15th? And also with my midwife when I see her on the 4th?

All help will be greatly appreciated!

For the first question, I'm pretty sure it "resets" back to just being a vaginal birth :dunno:

thanks hun :) makes things a lot easier this time, so that would mean I get put back to the same pregnancy management of a second-time vaginal delivery with no previous serious complications in the first delivery as such?

Can you tell I really want to do things right this time and birth my way? lol

Dunno what the term is but they do treat it as another vbac so no induction, and I was meant to be prepped with bloods done and cannula in but there was no time (ds came 15 min after arriving).

Just remembered I had a bit of pain in my scar when ds engaged he was resting to one side. My ob and gp kept an eye on it but it was fine and the pain stopped once he was born.

I had some pain on my left side along the scar with DD too, no one monitored it though and I was told it was most likely scar tissue adhering to the surrounding tissues, in fact this pregnancy is the only time I've been asked about the scar at all of my scans so far, weird.

Another thing to ask the midwife and my OB about though :)

FWIW, its definitely still classed as a VBAC (even though I have NO idea why, you've proven your scar will hold up so the risks are fairly minimal IMO!) and would be a VBAC2.

I was more nervous for my second VBA2C than my first - perhaps because I knew what was coming! LOL

Hey hun :) Still going for it, I'm still petrified of having another c-sec so it's vaginal all the way unless baby is at risk. I have my 20wk scan tomorrow morning so I'm going to ask about the scar as I was too scared to last time, I've had a lot of pain on the left side along my scar line the past 5 weeks, it's probably just scar tissue pulling but I want to get it checked anyway just to be sure.

I'm also determined to not have constant monitoring this time, I hate those bands that they use, the dig in mid-contraction and just make it worse. Grrr.

Oh and my OB is classing it as a VBAC after successful VBAC delivery lol so I guess VBAC2 is the correct term to use as well. Thank goodness he's not spouting the c-sec stuff this time (yet), I think he has come to respect me after everything that I told him last time. He really is a good OB though, and was more than willing to listen to me and go along with what I wanted as long as Elise was ok in there. I just hope I'm as lucky this time and everything goes perfectly again :)
