headaches
For basically this entire pregnancy I have been having some wicked headaches. Actually I think they feel more like migraines than anything else. For the most part I have been trying absolutely everything before resorting to the painkillers (because other wise I would be taking them consistently, and I really dont like the thought of that).
At the moment they are bad. I have them from the minute I wake up until I go to sleep. I think they are partly tension related as well. They are that bad at the moment that it hurts to open my eyes, and when I do have my eyes open I have eye twitches  Im slowly losing my ability to function properly and Im over them in general.
My ob doesnt seem too worried about them, every other part of me is doing well so he isnt worried.
My question is what can I do to help get rid of them? I have extra showers, eat and drink properly (and will try and down something to eat and drink when they start up), we go for walks, I have timeouts from the girls, etc.

Hi Beans,
Could it be eye strain? An optometrist friend told me that your eyes can change shape during pregnancy, so perhaps your vision has changed? I know if I read without my glasses I get a headache - maybe a simple eye check could find the cause of the problem? (PS, it goes back to normal after the birth!)
I found all my weird sleeping positions caused headaches for me, but that tended to be referred pain from a kinked neck or back. Warm wheat packs generally sorted that out.
Best wishes.

I'm in the same sort of boat and like you, am trying to do everything I can to avoid medication. Doesn't help when your OB tells you how normal you're being does it!
Do you literally have a bad headache constantly - like its the same one, or that you get one, lose it, get another immediately? If you're not getting a break from them it may well be worth asking your Ob for a prescription for panadeine forte You can then take a couple, go to bed (if you can) and try to really sleep it off. If you break the cycle, you might just get a reprieve. My Ob has recently given me a script for PF, although I am yet to take any because I haven't had a migraine since so apologies for "do as I say not as I do" advice! We had a very long talk about it because I'm very anti taking anything when pregnant. He was very confident in saying that so long as I'm not overdoing them, it will do me and the baby more harm constantly suffering from migraines than from taking a couple of panadeien fortes every now and then.
Otherwise, I'm using cold compresses, trying to limit computer and reading time, staying out of the sun as much as possible, keeping as cool as possible. I hope you get a break from them soon.

Thanks :)
I had thought about my eyes, (actually I do have somewhere in the house, I think, glasses that I was told to wear when I was studying years ago thansk to eye strain) just was hoping that it wasnt eyes.
It could be the way Im sleeping, especially considering they are really bad after a nights sleep with everyone in the one bed. Im normally stuck on my side squished between both girls with no where to go until they get up in the mornings, might try some more padding tonight and see if that makes any difference.
LuluHB, honestly it feels like the one headache constantly, and the painkillers only numb it for the period of time before they wear off. I dont have an appt with my ob until next week but I will ask him what he thinks when I see him. I have dh home tomorrow and wednesday so I think Im going to try and take some time out and have a nap or two whilst he's here to watch the girls.
