Whipping my house into shape! Anyone want to join?

My house needs a desperate re-organise! We have only been living here for 1 month but it's a smaller house with less storage & it's only 3/4 done. So everything can't be exactly where I want it right now.

I am going to make a list for me to do each day, so I can stay on track & get it all done. It won't take long once I get into the swing of it, I just need to start!

What needs to be done:

My Bedroom:

*Make bed - DONE
*Sort out stuff under bed - DONE
*Remove box from bedroom - DONE
*Set up XBox - DONE
*Organise walk in robe - DONE
*Organise ensuite - DONE
*Pack clothes away - DONE
*Organise the prints for the bare wall

Main bathroom:

*Organise toiletries - DONE
*Put towels away in there - DONE
*Sort out box in there & put it all away - DONE
*Move kids bath toys in there - DONE

Laundry:

*Organise laundry cupboard - DONE
*Do 2 loads of washing - 1 DONE
*Move some items to under trough
*Tidy up

Kitchen:

*Clear benchtops -DONE
*Re arrange pantry a little - DONE
*Clear stuff from next to stools - DONE

Lounge room:

*Clear out toys from under couch - DONE
*Pack blankets away - DONE
*Organise & tidy entertainment unit - DONE
*Pack away Santas - DONE
*Clear floor of toys
*Clear couch & arrange cushions
*Clean out unused/unwanted toys & sell or donate


Craft area:

*Organise paperwork
*Remove rubbish
*Decide what to do with home decor items

I think that's all I need to do :rofl:

My house is a complete wreck too!!! I'll join you but I can't do it everyday. Off to think about my list.

So today Charlotte I am doing my bedroom, ensuite & main bathroom.
Feel free to do it as you please though. Why not start with a big list like mine & go from there? Then when you're done you can come back & cross them off the list! I am halfway through my bedroom & I'm feeling much better already :) Amazing what a bit of reorganising can do for the mind!

DD is away today so am having my post christmas cleaning frenzy. So far, main bedroom cleaned top to bottom and sheets being washed at present.
All skirting boards and tops of doorways cleaned
return air filter from ducted heating dusted and washed
half the house vacced and about to mop
I am ashamed to admit I have found 2 dead mouse from a mouse plague we had in July!!!! :shhh: that is how badly our house needed cleaning
Gotta get off the puter and do some more.
I am so impressed with your efforts Enchanted with 2 littlies and being pregnant! puts me to shame

Ok, today I am doing the Laundry, Kitchen & Loungeroom!! We have been out all morning, so I've got the kids settled & I'm about to tackle the laundry first!

How did your day end up yesterday Anney? Don't be impressed by me, if you saw my house you would see why I am having to take drastic measures :rofl:

I'm in. Be back once I hang the washing out in the stinking heat lol

Ok, my MIL is here and she is a tornado of organizing energy. So far today we have;

Moved DD2's cot into her sister's room and all the toys and the cupboard out.
Turned DD2's old room into a toy room.
Organized all the toys.
Sorted all the kid's clothes into what will fit and what won't, and put them away into the big chest of drawers in a sensible order.
Cleaned out under DD1's bed and put the old pram under there.
Sorted out their bookcase.
Vacuumed the rooms.
Two loads of washing.
Finally, went out for coffee.

Love my MIL. She gets things done.

I'll join, because I need motivation to do it!
I'll come back and write my list a bit later though - I need to get out of this house, just for a minute or two!

Edit : Ok, finally on the computer so I can do my list!

Theatre room :
* Vacuum the floor
* Pick up the toys that DS leaves lying around
* Throw away rubbish

Kitchen :
* Sort out cupboards (plates/glasses/cleaning stuff etc)
* Clean out pantry of stuff that's out of date and/or we know we won't be using.
* Change the rubbish bag in the bin - DONE
* Clean up the sink and pack the dishwasher - DONE
* Clean up the bench and wipe down with disinfectant wipes - DONE

Living Room :
* Clean up the present table (That's the table we used to put presents on when I had my baby shower, and it's what we used as the table that DH presented all the flowers and such that we got from everyone when DS was born)
* Throw all DSs toys into the crates we have in that room - DONE (Mostly)
* Vacuum the little bit of carpet that we do have there

Dining Room :
* Fold up and put away the clean clothes on the dining room table
* Clean up the bookshelf and get the cords that are in DSs reach out of his reach (He's good that he doesn't actually touch them, but need to get them out of the way anyways)

DSs room :
* Clean up his mega blocks that he's got scattered all over the floor
* Change his bed sheets
* Move the rocking chair from his room to DDs room (or the theatre if DH moves the playpen)
* Sort out his clothes in his drawers (they're sorted, just not put away nicely)

DDs room :
* Put away all the clothes just recently washed
* Pick up and clean all the rubbish out of our room that our 'boarder' had left behind
* Get in there with the fly spray and get rid of as many spiders as possible
* Vacuum the floors

Our bedroom :
* Make the bassinet up
* Clean up the floor and vacuum
* Sort out clothes that won't fit for a while and chuck them in the vacuum bags we've got
* Make the bed

Random un-room assigned jobs
* Clean out the filth pit that is my car
* Double check the last of the hospital bag contents
* Pack some things into a bag for DS first day of daycare (9th Jan) :)

Ok, that should do for now ;)
And this all needs to be done by the 17th - so 12 more days (well 11 more by the time it's read)

So what is everyone's plans for today? I'm currently doing my daily washing which will need to go in the dryer as its raining. I plan to reorganise my buffet and hutch as it looks untidy and do the laundry which is a big job. No clothes in there but washing but its got a funny smell so it needs completely desanitising. In and out all day today so I'm not sure if I'll get to other jobs today or not. My bedroom needs cleaning a little as some clothes have fallen out of the too small cupboard I attempt to shove them all into.

My plan in mop, vacuum, and do the laundry. Got a leaky tap that leaked all over the box of washing powder, making it collapse and most of it fall down behind the dryer.

But not now... I'm having leftover chinese for breakfast.

Today I want to organise my lounge/dining area. Not a massive job but I will feel awesome having the one area done to perfection :)

I want to go through every draw and cupboard and shelf and make sure everything is in its 'home'. Then I want to deodourise and spot clean the carpets and couch.

I think tomorrow I'd love to do the kitchen and maybe the bathroom & laundry in the same way!

I shall be joining you this weekend. Muddled house is meaning my head is muddled (or visa versa) and I need to sort a few things out.

Same here Sop. I'm tired enough without having to deal with the anxiety all this tripe everywhere brings!

Today, I need to finish the laundry & attend to the toys. Yesterday was pretty much a no go, kids were making it way too hard. I forgot to call MIL last night, so kids are with me today. My Mum is coming over this arvo, so I know she'll give me a hand when she gets here. Now off to get DS's haircut & then to come back & start!!

Well I was to start the laundry but instead I felt my legs needed a shave so I did that and decided I would wash the bath once I got out which I did and then I showered to wash my hair and washed the shower and did the glass shower screen (a big job in itself) so now I just need to mop the bathroom floor and scrub the dunny and the bathroom is done but the laundry is still waiting for me. But I am clean and enjoying some quiet time in the nude PMSL. So DD is asleep which is when I really should be getting stuck into my jobs. Better get back to it.

I find it hard when DH is home and off work. And since he is renovating im finding it hard to do anything. Will be a start when he goes back in the 16th

Won't be much going on here today because it's FILs birthday and we'll be spending most of our time at their place. But I'll be getting stuck in the theatre room, tidying up and chucking a dishwasher load on

Right, I managed to cross off a couple of things of my list today - feeling better for it but really really want to get more done. Can't do it tomorrow cause I'm catching up with my dad and then going to my belated staff christmas party - Will cross off the things in my original post that I did do today

WooHoo I'm on my way!!!! This house is going to take me ages to get sorted. Today I did the top of my display case which has been my filing draw and just general crap collecting area (thanks DH) and I sorted it out and cleaned it. The kids bookcase arrived today so I have started sorting the bookcases out and moving the kids into a room together (that is going to take weeks I think) but it feels so good to be finally starting to plough through all the crap and clutter :D
I'm hoping that getting rid of heaps of clutter and sorting this house out will give us more space and look better.
