How long to wait after mc to ttc

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place so please move if not mods.

I had an mc on 8th Dec (5wk3day). I know I ovulated on the 22nd Dec (OPK pos) and got AF on 7 Jan so my cycle went straight back.
My GP said just after mc to wait 1 cycle before trying again but I saw him again today and he said to wait 2 cycles.. Now i'm confused if i should wait another cycle or not. I've read plenty of people online saying they fell after 1 clear cycle but now i'm not sure what to do..

We had planned to only TTC this month and next month and then skip a few months so I'm not heavily PG during summer but if i wait another cycle that will only give me 1 cycle to TTC and then stop if i follow this plan.

I'm confused now on what to do and just after some feedback on what other people have done.

I'm so sorry for your loss babe :hug: I've had 2 early mc, and I tried straight after those. I didnt fall pg though, I didn't ovulate for a couple of months after mine though. I had alot of trouble with my first and third mc, required d&c. Lots of problems that were ongoing....
All in all it took 3 years to have a second bub.
I know lots of women that try again straight away after a loss. I wouldn't wait personally.

I had a mc and D&C in late Oct... Was advised to wait one cycle... TBH we didn't feel like trying the first cycle anyway.

But my GP said a lot of people don't even wait for one cycle, they just jump right in...

I think it's ok to do whatever you feel is right. Was there any particular reason why he said to wait another cycle?

No my Dr didn't give me a specific reason other than he said there is increased risk of me having another MC if i went straight back and tried again without letting a few cycles pass.
My mc was pretty well straight forward although I did end up in hospital as my blood pressure dropped and I passed out - they thought it was ectopic but thankfully it wasn't. I bled for about 8 days and then 6 days later got cramps and did an OPK as I thought it was odd and got a pos on that so my body just went back to my normal cycle routine which I was really shocked by. When I knew I was ovulating we didn't "try" as the Dr had said it would be a doubled risk of another MC so we decided to wait. AF arrived on day 30 of my cycle. I'm in day 3 now so as long as I ovulate then i figured we'd give it a try. I only saw my GP today to double check my final blood test had my hcg back to zero and it had.

I just hate the thought of waiting. We conceived our DD the first month we tried but this last PG took us 4 months and I'm just worried that it's going to take awhile again and time is just getting away from us. I already waited longer than I wanted to start trying for #2 and now this is just making it longer and longer and longer.. I don't know how I'll feel if I get to my EDD and I'm not PG again.

Sorry for your loss hun. We waited until I'd had my first AF afterwards to try and fell straight away again. I was like you and very lucky that my cycle just carried on like normal, only a few days longer. My drs advice was to wait one cycle but her reasons were a) for emotional reasons and b) to allow time for my body to recover and in case the mc was caused by anything obvious (infection etc) as I had follow up blood tests. No real testing though as it was my first, and hopefully only.

I think we are going to go ahead and give it a whirl. I figure if my body wasn't ready then I wouldn't have ovulated and wouldn't be working back like normal. I suffer from anxiety and my GP asked my Mum "how is she" even though I'd just told him I was fine so I did wonder if he said wait longer more for my emotional side..

I was told by my gp and my early pregnancy service midwives to have one cycle then it's fine to try again (i miscarried naturally). We didn't wait and we fell pregnant the very next cycle but sadly lost that baby.
I then waited one cycle but misjudged ovulation on the second cycle and we didn't fall pregnant. But i think i was ok with that because i needed a bit of time and space to process everything. We then fell again on our third cycle. It's totally up to you. You know your emotions and what you can handle...if your body isn't ready it isn't ready and usually it will tell you that either with AF arriving and no pregnancy or sadly like me another miscarriage. After jumping the gun i'd wait one cycle at least. Especially if you bled for a few weeks. Get that uterine lining nice and thick for a babe :)
