How long?
How long after you eat something does it 'appear' in breast milk? We've had gas issues related to lactose overload in the past, but with that under management I want to start introducing other foods that I've avoided, such as chocolate and food with more herbs/spices. TIA :)

I suspect it probably depends on all sorts of factors. There's not a lot of good information on this topic - ie, what and how foods 'appear' in your milk. There's an LC in Perth who's also a dietician - she may have up-to-date knowledge on this.
was there any reason you were avoiding these foods?

I was avoiding these foods b/c DD had bad gas and it seemed to help. Now that the gas was related to lactose overload which is under management I thought I'd start reintroducing these foods. I lived on spice and chilli while pregnant so I'm dying to eat it again!

how old is your DD? i found that after about 6 months i could eat/drink most things without an issue. would be interested to hear the answer though if you find out how long it does take!

Just thought I'd update. So far I've had choc, coffee, chilli sauce and garlic and there has been no gas issues. So it looks like her system is maturing :)
