Doppler Machine

Any advice about Doppler Machines, have you used one, would you recommend it?

any advice would be a great help... deciding if I should get one or not...

hmmm they are good in theory ... but as you are inexperinced in using them or know the difference between a HB and the placenta sounds you MIGHT panic if you have it in the wrong spot and cannot find the HB or are unsure of the sounds you are hearing.

I got one with DD2's pregnancy and only used it once

I love my Doppler. It has given me so much re assurance that he is still alive in there.

I have one and have LOVED it. I know a lot of people are nervous to use them in case they can't find the babies heartbeat and then panic that something has happened. But in my experience I've never not been able to find it (sometimes after a good 5 minutes or more of searching) after about 10 weeks even though the doppler says you "may" be able to hear the heartbeat from 12 weeks. I heard my son the first time at 10 weeks, my daughter at 9 weeks and this bub at 10.5 weeks.

I found it invaluable in the early stages of pregnancy before you could feel bub moving around. I had a loss before my sons pregnancy and was rather nervous during the early stages of each subsequent pregnancy. Hearing those beautiful heartbeats just gave me the reassurance I needed to maintain a little sanity ;)

Another fan here, I got an angel sounds one from ebay, and I've always been able to find a HB (always lower in the belly than you'd expect). Its easier to distinguish Mum and Bubs HB as bubs is normally about doubly as fast.
Like Mylitta, I find it very reassuring in early pg, but didn't really use it much in later pg

I got an angel sounds one from eBay also. I only got it after i had heard the heartbeat at the drs with a Doppler (15 weeks). It has been really reassuring and has helped me bond I think. I made sure it was bubs heartbeat by counting the beats. I found mine first but then realized it was wayyyy to slow for bubs. It's good for DH to bond and nice to share with family too. My niece (12) was beside herself being able to hear her only cousins heartbeat. I was worried it would make me more anxious but it's been $40 well spent!!!!
