We've just had a bungalow built out the back. Last Friday the plaster went in and just now the plasterer has been back to sand it all back, so now it's all finished.
I totally forgot to ask him if I have to do anything to the walls before we put the undercoat paint on! Am I meant to clean them or something first? I know when you paint inside walls you can wash them down with sugar soap first, but it's just plaster so wouldn't something wet be bad on it? Feeling a little clueless, lol.
Hmmm, just done some googling, and it looks like because it's plasterboard we can dust it off, wipe it down with a damp cloth and just put our undercoat on. Fingers crossed that's the way to go, hehe.

My stepfather is a painter/plasterer. He'd just say give it a few days for the plaster joins to completely dry (possibly more so in corner joins), give it a light sand if it needs it and then go for your life with the undercoat.
Give it a couple of days for it all to dry/cure properly (so probably paint on the weekend), I just wiped my walls down with a broom with a damp cloth on it to remove the lose dust/particles. I also used an undercoat with a mould inhibitor in it.
