Hi there
i saw this was an old post but just wanted to drop you a line
i got diagnosed with very severe endmetriosis in February this year via laprascope. I have dense adhesions on both ovaries and ligaments and my bowel is stuck to my uterus causing nodules. I have always had painful periods since i was 16 and after numerous tests and seeing many many specialists they told me it was just puberty. Boy how they were wrong. I am now 25 and it wasn't until i had my son last year and got my periods again something was seriously wrong as the pain was unbareable.
I went a saw a specialist again and when they did the laprascope found all the endmetriosis. I was immediately put on 6 months of zoladex. I had my 5th zoladex on the 24th of July. I had bleeding every single month and felt absolutely horrific on it. As the zoladex clearly wasn't working to its capacities my specialist was keen to put me on the pill for a few months until surgery. Knowing that surgery would probably results in my husband and i not having anymore kids naturally and will be hard with Ivf as the surgery will be taking chunks of my ovaries, i asked my specialist if we could try to get pregnant now. He said yes, if. Its meant to happen it will. We only have 4 months to try naturally as having periods aggravate endmetriosis. More. With endmetriosis as severe as mine they can't give too many fertility drugs as it makes it angry. I haven't got a period yet, but my specialist said it will take up to 8 weeks.
My specialist is one of the best Ivf guys in our state and he user zoladex in some cases to get women pregnant. As your in menopause with the zoladex coming off it your body freaks out and starts ovulating and he has had great success with it
this for us is our only option now to get pregnant coming off the zoladex as i will be having a hysterectomy after the pregnancy if it happens.
I wish you the best of luck
Hi! first of all thanks for replying... ever since i stopped my zoladex treatment a lot has happened... af arrived exactly 2 months after my last injection and guess what?? i fell pregnant on my first cycle!! but my happiness was short lived as i had a miscarried at 10 weeks gestation :(((( my concerns and questions have multiplied since my miscarriage... is there anything the doctors overlooked?? but yesterday i got some answers... miscarriage is very common and unfortunately they can't test after one miscarriage... but i was given the go ahead to start trying again as i got my first af post mc last week... and an ultrasound shows everything is ok... so i'm off to start trying again from the start just when i thought i had my fertility problem sorted out!!
i really hope you get pregnant in these months you have... i really do!!! may i ask u somethin? do you have any children? i don't.. this would have been my first child :((
Hello,
Im sorry to hear that, nothing breaks your heart more and no one ever understands what it is like unless it has happened to them . I know this may sound strange but by any chance do they think that your miscarriage be related to the zoladex? It may just be coincidence but from a lot of forums and things i have read it seems to happen a lot with the first pregnancy after zoladex. A bit strange if you ask me.
We actually have a son who is now 15 months. We tried to have him for 18 months and after numerous miscarriages we finally got pregnant. I didn't know i had endmetriosis when we were trying to get pregnant. I had bleeding throughout the pregnancy and was put on bed rest from 30 weeks. He was delivered naturally but because i couldn't breast feed i be periods pretty much straight away and with it came the pain and i had to go back on the pill. Then had a laprascope and found the endmetriosis. The rest is history.
My specialists are in shock i was able to get pregnant with him due to the endmetriosis so it is all a bit of a miracle he is here.
As we want another child our only real chance is to get pregnant now once my period arrives after last zoladex we can start trying. They're going to give me a ovulation drug if it doesn't happen quickly. Not sure if this is something your doctor could do for you?
I really hope things happen quickly for you as i know how hard and depressing it can be when things don't happen.
If you don't mind me asking do you have endmetriosis too?
Xoxoxoxo
Yes I have endometriosis but the doctor said it is very mild and I could have conceived without the zoladex but would have taken a long time so he gave me the treatment all the same. I am sorry you had your losses too…. It’s the worst thing that can happen to a woman… now I understand I asked my doctor but he dismissed the fact that zoladex could have had to do with my miscarriage… he said it was just a bad coincidence and the fact that I conceived so quickly after the treatment means that my endo is clear and the treatment has worked and I have a good chance of conceiving again soon.
I am very happy for you having your son!! He is a miracle indeed!
I had an ovulation drug when I got pregnant… I had ovitrelle injection. But I am going to try for some months without medication except for the metformin which the doc gave me for metabolism to help ovulation. I I get that bfp soon cause its driving me crazy… are you on facebook?
I hope things work out well for you too after zoladex!!! xxx
There is nothing worse than waiting to take a test. It drove me crazy. Every month for 18months, nothing! It is so depressing to when it doesnt happen.
Nah not on facebook. I use to be but just before I had my son I went off it, just didnt want people finding out off facebook
Where abouts are you in AUS?
