Forest Lake/Springfield lakes?

I am currently looking into the estates to Rent a house for the family. We really want to be close to shops and schools and train station if possible.

We currently live In Paddington so moving out there would be huge for us and DH works at Kelvin Grove QUT and would need to get to and from there.
I work at the woolies in Paddington too and don't drive so I would have to find a job out there also and I still want to stay on nightfall as then I don't have to send the kids to daycare everyday.

Are there good schools also?

I am just wondering if these are good areas to live? Any recommendations on where to look ?

We are also looking to make some friends and thought that living in an estate might be a way to meet new people with children and similar interests.

I have had a few friends rent in Springfield lakes and they have always really liked it. I'm not too sure about the specifics though sorry.

I used to live by Springfield Lakes. Unless things have changed, the nearest train is in Goodna. There are buses though. It is a nice area. The Orion shopping centre is alright, there might be jobs around there.

Im in Forest Lake and we really like it, there are lots of families and kids.
We have an ok shopping centre here which has Woolies, Coles and Aldi, Best and Less and we just got Target too. Plus all the usual other shops. If I want anything bigger I usually go to Mt Ommaney which is a 10min drive away.
Richlands is the closest train/bus station but I dont really know too much about that other than it is a fairly new one.

There are two state primary schools (zoned) and one state High School. There is also a private primary/high school here too.
Ummmmmm what else can I tell you? Not too sure what the rental situation is like but there is heaps of real estate places here so im sure you would be able to find something :D

My niece goes to Springfield College (year 12), it is an amazing school, she has gone from a D grade student to an A-B grade student.

Cant comment on the area, living etc as my parents (who she lives with don't live there and I am in Sydney).
