Shampoo smell off hands

So I bought a new shampoo for the kids yesterday, and to be brief, it reeks. Probably a pregnant, over sensitive thing going on, but I can't stand the smell of it, and need to get the smell off my hands. But how? Have tried washing them with dishwashing liquid (cos that's usy pretty good), but no luck.

And not to mention, tomorrow I'm washing their hair again with something else!

And I'm sorry mods, I couldn't figure out where this kind of thing would go.

have you tried washing with lemon juice? - sometimes that works for me to get rid of unpleasant smells off hands (usually onions though).

Lemon juice usually gets most things off. Of try rubbing your hands on something aluminium like the sink top....supposed to work.

Thanks, the lemon juice worked a little. Its more bearable on my hands now.

Vinegar? It gets smells out of clothes...

I was going to suggest rubbing your hands on stainless steel - so the kitchen sink. It works really well for me getting rid of onion and garlic smells from my hands. If more frequent solution is required and you don't wish to keep fondling and caressing parts of your kitchen (!) you can get 'chefs soap' which is a stainless steel stone that is shaped like soap, so you can easily pick it up and rub it over your hands...

I second the sink thing. I do it always. DH thinks I'm a nutjob ;)

Yep I do the sink thing too! If that doesn't work rubbing damp hands with bicarb, it works for things like bleach smell.

I rub salt with a bit of water then wash off

I only tried the lemon juice, then didnt put my hands near my face. And used a different shampoo on the kids today.
