Anyone used a home stylist.....?

We are considering one once we get this place ready to sell. Our furniture is old and tired and we don't want to replace it before we buy as it may not fit in the new place! I am still wondering if we save some $$ and do it ourselves but buying new furniture is holding me back plus it will cost around $5k to replace what we need to, whereas we think styling will be around 3K????

So have you used a stylist? We have found a few houses that are for sale near here that have clearly been styled, look amazing and have been sold for excellent prices so we think it will be worth it!

Any recommendations for places in Melbourne would be great too!!

I think it would be a shame to buy something that suits your current house perfectly (which you would have to do otherwise it sort of defeats the purpose), but may not suit your yet to be found new house. If you can stretch to pay for styling now, and then buying new furniture that suits your new home then that would be great. Money only goes so far though so . . .

Too true hun, Im thinking maybe things like rugs, artwork and decorative vases, mirrors that are our style we could buy and keep and hire the bigger stuff?? Not sure - will see how we go and DH might be able to suss out some people they use at his work!

When I worked in RE one of the sales agents wife's used to style a lot of houses. She's amazing!!
