One of the girls at mothers group has one, they look quite nice and comfy - but she's a smaller lady than me, so not sure how it'd go on a fuller figure? Has anyone used one and can give a review on whether they're worth looking into? I'm finding my Breeze Baby ring sling pulls a bit too much on my dodgy neck, I'll still use it for the pools and beach of course but looking at something else for short trips when not using the ergo....
I'm not a fan of slings with padded rails, they don't allow you a full range of adjustment as the rails cant be pulled to far.
They do ok with an older baby in a hip carry, but with a small baby the rails can flop in over baby restricting airflow in a reclined carry and as you cant pull the outer rail tight it can be hard to get a secure tummy to tummy carry. If you look at pictures of a true ring sling (I love Maya Wrap thought there are plenty of others) you can pull the fabric through the rings with no padding in the way so you can get bub nice and snug and well supported by fabric right up to their shoulders in a tummy to tummy carry.
I have a Bubba Moe and I really like it. I found it a bit harder to use when ds was smaller as you have to fold the pouch in half to make sure there wasn't excess fabric and I could never really figure it out properly. But ever since about 3 or 4 months old when you can start using a few of the other holds I've really loved it and so has ds. He's 7 months now and about 9-9.5kg and it's still very comfy to carry him in it. We use multiple positions and they all work really well.

I Love my bubba moe - in fact I have two! They are very comfortable and idiot proof. I am a larger frame (size 16) an find it fits really well, they adjust easily and so fit my much larger DH as well.
I bought a BubbaMoe new and it was a complete waste of money for us. :( I really strongly dislike bag slings. They are difficult to adjust because you can’t independently tighten each rail and they can be dangerous because newborn babies can get into positions (because of the lack of adjustability) that can restrict their airflow.
I can’t recommend highly enough a ring sling. They completely different to bag slings, are fully adjustable, safe and extremely useful for newborns right through to toddlers. HTH. :D

ETA: Sorry, I just read your OP again (sometimes it takes a while to sink in for me :lol:). If you’ve already got a ring sling and are looking for something more sturdy for you and your baby as he gets older, you could try a soft structured carrier like an Ergo or Manduca. You can do front or back two-shouldered carries which will be much more comfortable for you. Or you could enter the truly amazing world of woven wraps where anything is possible. :D
Love my Bubba Moe!! I have two now cause I loved it so much with DD1! She practically lived in it for the first year of her life :lol: Yup, we used it, in the heart/cradle hold, right up until she was 13 months old! DD loved being in it and I found it super comfy to wear.
I don't like that kind of sling - I had one same sort, different brand. They're tricky to use safely in the cradle hold with a newborn. Those kinds are somewhat adjustable, but still need to be the right size to fit right, and you need to be very careful with positioning with newborns so you don't block airways (if the baby sort of bends over on themselves in a C shape). They can be handy when baby gets bigger and can sit on the hip. but still, an open-tailed ring sling can be easier to use as it's fully adjustable.
The breeze baby is not very comfy for long carries because of the material. one with nicer, more supportive fabric would be heaps better.
A friend let me borrow hers and my DD hated it. Screamed everytime she was in it.
Hmmm..I have an ergo already which DS loves, but looking for other options, especially ones that are quick and easy for around the house and shorter trips - he's a heffalump, 3 and a bit months old and already 7.7kg so I have a feeling he's going to be a big boy :lol: Might have a look at a ring sling in a nicer fabric with a longer tail, he loves being in the kangaroo carry in the breeze baby though I'm yet to try a hip carry with it.
