Broken hearted boy :(

My poor DS14 has had his heart broken and there is nothing I can do to make it better :cry:

He was really quiet last night after dinner and we were watching TV when I asked him what was wrong? He burst into tears and said that his girlfriend had broken up with him :crying:
It was of course a typical teenage relationship, in love after a few days, and they have only been together for about 6 weeks or so.

I gave him a big hug but didnt know what else to do or say, not that there is anything I can say to make him feel better.
Although I have the benefit of hindsight and I know that this will not be the last time he feels like this, I dont want to dismiss what he is feeling now.
He asked me when girls grow out of bad boys because his heart was too big to turn into one :heartbeat:

DH couldnt say anything to him either because he was trying to hold it together himself, the big sook was close to breaking down himself seeing his boy in tears. :shhh:

Oh the poor thing, I hate seeing him so miserable. I have bought him some chocolate and a card telling him that its not the same but I think he is wonderful and I hope he feels better soon x

But what a sweetheart he sounds. You have obviously done a good job! Hope he feels better soon, and a 'nice' girl comes along soon to help him forget.

It's good he told you though. Nice that he's close enough to you guys to feel he can let it out. That's a good thing. xx

Aw :( I'm not looking forward to those years! I hope your DS's heart heals quickly, and he eventually finds the girl for him with the least amount of heartbreak beforehand.

Aw, I don't think you ever forget those first heartaches!! Everything is so raw! Poor boy- I agree though, you obviously have a very loving and supportive family environment for him to be able to tell his parents without being embarrassed. Well done!!

The poor guy......I love that you are obviously a close knit family and that he could tell you why he was upset and not try to hold back any emotions he was feeling. Sounds like you have a beautiful, emotional son. You must be very proud.

Oh yeah - the chocolate is a great idea. Who doesn't feel a little better after eating some chocolate!

Thank you ladies, I guess I hadnt thought about him being able to talk to us as its just what we do. We are very open, maybe a bit too open sometimes :o I know they wanted the ground to open up last week after I had read the thread about teachers teaching our kids about porn. I had my friend in hysterics telling her I asked my sons if they knew about foreplay :clap::clap:

I so wish we could wrap them up though so they didnt have to deal with these crappy feelings until they are emotionally ready.

True Feijoa, but is anyone ever emotionally ready for heartbreak? It sucks, no matter how old you are. :(

What a lovely thing to do for him when he's feeling so ****ty. I hope that between his wickedly awesome family and his mates he will recover soon, and learn to fall in love again xx
