Mega itchy bites...antihistamine?
DS2 (13 mths) has lots of huge itchy bites on his legs. I think he's allergic to insect bites and they are big, red and blistery. They are also majorly annoying him. He has scratched the top of a few of them and when he's still (like feeding or trying to go to sleep) he scratches and kicks his legs out and is really irritated by them. He had a restless wakeful sleep last night and was itching and kicking his legs whenever he was awake.
I have tried putting breast milk on them (the magic cure all!) I don't know if it helped, but he seemed to stop itching for a little while and went to play. I don't know if he was just distracted and playing or the milk brought a little relief :dunno:.
Anyways, should I give him some of his antihistmine? I got it when he had a different huge bite on him and the doctor reccommended I get some JIC he got bitten again. But I suspect that bite was a spider or ant bite, not a mozzie bite like I'm pretty sure these ones are (I have a tonne of them on my legs too and they are mighty itchy!! But mine aren't huge and blistery like his are.) I was thinking maybe I should give him some antihistamine before bed tonight to relieve his itching?
