Help! GD test tomorrow

So I am meant to have my GD test tomorrow morning. My ob said I don't need to fast for it, but everything I have read says I am meant to fast for 8 hours before?? Can some one shed some light? I am hoping i haven't misunderstood... Ek!

I don't remember fasting for my GD test. If it's the standard one-hour one, from memory you can eat and drink - though having something really sugary/carb-y beforehand probably isn't a good idea!

I think if it's the repeat, longer GD test then you need to fast.

Am sure the other knowledgeable ladies here on BB will correct me if I'm wrong on this though.

I didn't have to fast for the first GD test, but I did for the second longer one...

You do not have to fast whilst you are pregnant unless you have had an irregular result on a previous GD test

I went for a Diabetes test once before I was pregnant and I was hungry before I went in. So I thought I'll be really healthy and have a fruit salad. WELL ! The test came back with a high sugar reading and I had to re-test and this time DIDN'T eat anything sweet (even if it was natural) and the test came back fine :lol: Glad you worked it out :)
