Kidney stone
Just wondering if anyone has/heard of falling pregnant while you have a kidney stone?? I have a really small one and the doc is just leaving it for now as it's not causing me too much discomfort, but I want to start trying for another baby in the next few months, any info would be great:)
TIA

Your renal system is separate to your reproductive organs so a small stone should have no impact on your fertility. Good luck TTC!

Hi there. Although the two systems are quite separate and the stone will not keep you from getting pregnant, the issue is more what might happen if the stone does cause you a problem while you are pregnant. If it is a problem, the treatment, investigations and management will all be influenced by the pregnancy and the other way around also. This is not a reason to panic, however - what you need to do is find out how likely the specialist thinks a problem in the foreseeable future will be. With a tiny stone, it is likely to only be small and the stone could pass by itself without an issue. If there is a reasonable chance, however, ask for it to dealt with prior. Meantime also ask what you can do to minimize the chances of a problem happening - likely to be simple things like drinking lots of water etc. Good luck :) K
