Can you please take a look at these and tell me how you would make them.

I'm thinking fondant. A black disc and on top of that an orange disk and a little ball pinched/rolled into a teardrop shape. And the buckle drawn on with food marker.
For mine I might make half with a red band and half with a yellow band.
Question. How do I make the fondant shiny?
And how do I make brown fondant for tiny little wands?

Doesn't egg white make fondant shiny? No idea about making brown fondant, but you could probably buy wire wands if you wanted to. I've made ladybugs and bumble bees and have used wire for the antennas. They'd easily double as a wand.
If you go to ebay and enter 170702038606 in the search box you'll find them. Teeny, tiny witches hats.
Because they're for year ones I don't want any wire or anything. It all has to be edible.
Get thee to a cake decorating store and get some little wires that they use for flower stamens - they will work a treat for what you want. And egg white brushed over it should make it shiney too. Fondant would be the best thing to use. Rouge is the Fondant Queen so I'm sure she will have tips for you
gum paste is also very easy to work with. easy to color. and keeps really well.
looking at those pics, the hats look like they're done with a black disc, the shaped hat, and then an orange band wrapped around it.
from memory, steam helps to give a shiny finish. not sure i'd use egg whites on cake given the chance of allergy to the uncooked product... i think you can brush with vodka too - but maybe that's not a great idea for kids cakes!
ETA - had a better look at the hats and yup, does look like an orange disc in there - just much thicker than the back one!
with your wands, if you're going to have black red and yellow colors, can you experiment at mixing it to see if you get a nice brown color?
you can always colour white fondant to whatever colour you want, just needs lots of kneading to make the colour go through. How soon do you need to make them? Americolor or wilton do a chocolate brown colour.
They're due to be eaten next Friday. So I'll be putting them on the cakes on Thursday night.

ETA, they will look loads better once the fondant has set - they look a bit moist, but I'm guessing that they are still pretty soft and fresh?

Eta- chocolate plastic is a great alternative to fondant for decorative items. Yummy too.

I can see a Harry Potter cake coming along. Only tip I could make would to have let the little hats dry overnight before making them glossy.

I don't think they will need glossing. I tried using some rice oil spray on my working surface instead of icing sugar ao they should be quite shiny when they dry.
