BLS breakfast ideas?
DD is 6 months old today (eeek where did that go?)
We started our BLS Journey 3 days ago..
So far she just joins as at the dinner table at night.
Im thinking she will want some breaky in the coming weeks. I didnt do much BLS with DD1 so she was basically spoonfed weetbix or porridge.
What sort of BLS things can I give DD2 for breakfast that isnt toast? I want to avoid her using a spoon for as long as I can (unless its yogurt).

This can be kind of messy but I used to just make really thick oats (porridge) so it all sort of stuck together and she could eat it with her hands. I used to also do a similar thing which was apple slices topped with really thick oats. I did the same thing with yogurt too, we called them yogapples haha.

I give DD banana or when when he was tht age things like pear etc so fruit basically. If I make her porridge I load the spoon sit it on the high chair and let her put it in her mouth I also let her just all hands in, messy but she loved it. I also made her porridge by just putting hot water over rolled oats and covering for a bit so it was more textured iykwim then adding a dairy free milk alternative.

I make my own muffins. I make all kinds but this morning DS had a zucchini, carrot and cheese muffin. I cut it into smaller pieces for him.
Some days we have fruit for breakfast. You can do toast, just cut it into smaller pieces, maybe spread some avocado on.
The other morning I fried (in water) some mushrooms, slices of cherry tomatoes, slices of olives and some coriander and then when it was cooked I put some grated parmesan cheese on top and just put it on his highchair try for him to eat.

We started with really thick porridge that we either say in front of her or loaded onto a spoon for her. I made it part water, part breastmilk. Used to do banana as its so easy, but DD had an allergic reaction to banana a while ago so we're avoiding that for a bit. I've done steamed pear, apple, watermelon, toast, which DD especially loves.

French toast?
When we first started, I dont think I differentiated between traditional meal times. What ever he liked and could eat, thats what he had :D
Think it was mostly fruit and toast type stuff from memory.....

Very slightly soggy rice puffs or puffed wheat the ones with no added anything. Can get them a bit soggy with EBM or cows milk or water. I only really make them soggy because they fly around less that way. I then just heap a few in DS tray and he gets them in his mouth somehow. Bonus is my toddler loves them dry as snacks when out and they are less sticky than Weetbix (seriously who needs superglue when you have Weetbix and milk)

Thankyou for all your ideas :)

We do fried vegetables like kale, zucchini and mushrooms. Scrambled egg- I started with scrambled/fried egg yolk then went to full egg after I saw he didn't have a reaction to that. I used to always have roasted or steamed veggies in the fridge when he was super little too so he often got some of those for breakfast- generally pieces of roast pumpkin or steamed beans.

hot cross buns, scrambled eggs in big chunks so they can hold on to them:)

We just gave DD1 whatever we had. Fruit, toast, weetbix with ebm, eggs, pancakes. I put avocado on her toast instead of honey or Vegemite as a baby.
The idea of BLS is that your baby eats family foods with the rest of you. No need for a separate menu!

I have avocado and cucumber on my toast (yes strange I know) so ds has that. He lives weetbix though, so he is still spoon fed after he's had a bit of a play and munch on toast and cucumber. He is already able to spoon feed himself at just under one, so as long as you give them a spoon too, I don't see any issue with spoon feeding here and there.

We gave DD1 a spoon to use as well as ours. She could use it very well before 12 mths. BLS does not mean they must use their fingers to pick up all food!

Huge chunks of avocado
Baked beans
Mushrooms
We're always having one of those, so that's what the baby has. She loves avocado.
