It's hot and usually dry - but not lately - it floods so make sure you are aware of that when choosing a home!

HOT HOT HOT, we were there for around a month in July/August last year and the temps tipped over 50 degrees!!!

Gorgeous city though, we found Roma one of the hardest cities when it came to language barriers and no one wants to help you so make sure you brush up on your Italian!!!

the one in QLD? it is a bit isolated, but has many pubs lol. AND it is super close to one of my favourite places in the whole world: carnarvon gorge. beautiful, spiritual place. amazing.

Roma, Italy? busy. great coffee (their speciality is the 'monachella'...mmm mmm mm).

DH lived there for about 7 years before I met him. He lived there because of work, he's back working there but FIFO

What type of info are you after? I have a friend that lived there for a couple of years so can ask a female perspective of the town lol

Anything really, we know nothing about it all.

Schools housing that sort Of thing are our main concerns. Is there anywhere we should steer clear of, is it easy to buy good etc or would we have to travel, that kind of thing.

We have never lived there, only visited. We went to the Easter in the Country festival last year - the people were so lovely that we felt like we lived there.

There's heaps of bugs.

We didn't have too much struggle with the language barrier. We're not native QLDers but it was still easy to communicate ;)

But it's a great town. They are desperate for more young families to live there. It's a long way out, but there's a good array of what you need in town, shops wise, and Toowoomba is only, what... 4 hours? Less?

Hi got reply last night from my friend, I have no Internet at home at the moment - modem died and waiting on replacement.

In short she said people are really lovely, there is limited shopping and stuff to do. Rent starts at about $400 p/w and can be hard to find because a lot are being taken by oil & gas companies as staff housing - the house my dh stays in is $650 fully furnished 3 bedroom. To buy they start around $400k

A lot of locals left after being flooded 3 years in a row so you would have to be wary of where you rent or buy

There are daily flights and brisbane is an hour by plane.

Thanks for that, DH has a job interview down this way next week and we're hoping he gets that so we don't even have to consider the Roma job lol
