DD1 (3yrs) had a vaccine early this morning (DTPa + polio).
She was fine til about midday when her arm started to hurt and has been cranky since then.
The last few hrs she's been very whiny and crying, just wanting cuddles. She might have a slight temp. After dinner she said she felt sick and then vomited all over me, lovely.
Vomiting isn't on the list of side effects they gave us. Is it common?
Anyone?
My poor baby. She's very upset and just vomited again :(
I am grateful she's still breastfeeding now. She wanted booby and has just about fallen asleep. First time I've fed her to sleep in probably a yr!
None of mine have vomited with their vaccinations. How is your DD now? Anymore episodes of vomiting?
Giving nurse on call a quick call might be a good idea - see if they have any suggestions.

Poor thing :( Not sure about the vomiting, maybe give the 13 health number a call?

Yeah that. So sorry to hear your DD is sick. It's awful when they vomit. I hope it's just a random thing and you all get a good night sleep :hug::
Thanks guys. Tried the nurse people and was on hold forever and eventually gave up.
She's had some panadol and is sleeping now. Hopefully she's feeling better in the morning. I think it's from the vax bc no one else has been sick and we haven't been anywhere or seen anyone recently that she could have got sick from.
DH is going to sleep with her tonight and make sure she's ok. Fingers crossed for him he doesn't get spewed on in the middle of the night, lol.
Aww poor love! I hate it so much when they are sick. Vomitting especially. They just get so miserable.
I don't think mine vomitted with vaccines hun. Have you googled? Or gone to the websites of the manufacturers, checked for an extensive list of side effects? Maybe they just list the most common side effects on the handout thing?

OP- thanks. I just found it and yeah it does say nausea and vomiting! Poor thing, she's never really vomited properly before and it scared her.
boomba- Thank you. I was worried about it and this is why! I hate thinking what it's doing to her little body in there :(
Well she vomited again at 1pm DH said and then he was up with her for a couple of hours while she tried to go back to sleep. She had a temp and was shivering. She is much happier so far this morning but still has a temp.

Is this a delayed vax from infancy? Or a booster? Just wondering if I need to get dd done?
It's funny how older kids sometimes react worse to vax. I delayed vax with ds and I wasn't able to give him rotavirus (not that I wanted it) because babies over six months react badly to it.
It might be because babies under six months still have very strong placental antibodies to help them?
Yeah, it's a delayed one Arcadia. She's only had this one and this is her 3rd dose. She's snuggled up with DH watching the lion king now, lol.

Yep they can. Bella did after her 12 month ones. They can get a temp, nausea and site pain. Seems like your poor poppett got the lot! Hope she is better soon xx
Poor thing :( I hope she's much better today H?? That's a shame you had to wait so long for the nurse line to help you. I rang them 2 days ago when DD2 badly split her lip and they answered immediately, must be a timing thing.
Both DD's never had any reactions to needles thankfully. DD1 hasn't had any needles since her 6mth one's, I just remember that she screamed a lot during the whole ordeal but that was it :(
