Bassinet sheet alternatives?

I've borrowed a jolly jumper brand bassinet for freckle this time around - went straight to cot with ds. But I didn't borrow any sheets with it as owner is a cc worker with no children yet so she doesn't have any sheets yet that I can borrow. She has lent the bassinet out before as well so will ask the last person who borrowed ir what she did. My cot sheets look like they'll be far too big unless I fold them in quarters and then that might be too big - probably too bulky as well.
Any suggestions for alternatives? I don't want to have to buy new bassinet sheets for something I don't own but will if I have to.

is the bassinet mattress small enough to slip inside a pillowcase?

i used pillow cases and normal cot sheets :)

You could buy a bit of fabric and just hem it rather than real sheets.

wraps?

Wraps, or even just a towel. Or, buy one sheet, then always keep a terry flat or something over the top of it.

I used a pillowcase on ours.
He was in a pram bassinette though, not sure if they're the same size?

I have used a pillowcase and also wraps. At the moment I have a flanelette wrap under a sheet that mum made for me. Its just a square of cotton hemmedd on two edges, really cheap.

I think the big w wraps are about 3 for $12 and fit our bassinett

I will try the pillowcase idea tomorrow - the mattress looks too long to fit but I'm not the best at estimating lengths so may fit; I still need to work out where I put all the wraps I had for ds (packed away somewhere); I've found two of them not sure exactly where the rest are. they sound like they may be a better alternative.

I just used muslin wraps with a flat nappy underneath. Quick and easy to change if there's a little bit of sick or pee.

I used pillow cases (sheepskin pillowcases are great as mattress toppers!) and flat nappies / other pillow cases with it. Or I'd just use a cot sheet folded in half.

Found the wraps! Tried a pillowcase this morning and it fits :leap: and also tried wrapping a fitted cot sheet over the mattress and that works - its about 3 times around but that makes it firm and not loose.

Ive always just used wraps/bunny rugs as sheets, flannelette for winter, cotton for summer. Easy to strip off and change too. I have super spewy babies so had heaps as sometimes i was changing them several times a day and because of this i had the bassinette waterproof mattress protectors underneath.
