DDs Both Asleep In The Cot - Is This Bad?

DD2 is often very troublesome to get to sleep. Can take 45 minutes of hand holding.

So tonight after reading their bedtime story, DD1 said she wanted to stay in DD2's cot.

I thought, yeah right, as DD1 is a clown and I thought there was no way they'd go to sleep together. Told her she could stay and I'd come back in 10 mins and if either of them were still awake, she'd have to go to her bed.

Listened on the baby monitor. DD1 was earnestly telling DD2 that she had to go to sleep.

Very little mucking around. Both asleep.

DD2 is little but not THAT little - she's 19 months old. I don't think DD1 could hurt her by rolling on her etc.

What do you reckon?

19 months? I'd leave them if the cot is big enough.

My 2 little ones are similar ages & DS has asked if they could both sleep in the cot. I haven't let them, but I've thought about getting them a double bed, since they both end up in mine every night!
I personally would probably wait til I was on my way to bed, then move DD1 if they've survived that long :)

Naww, that's so sweet!!! I don't think I'd be worried about them hurting each other. If this works out for you though, maybe get them a double bed!! LOL, I wish my kids would do that, whenever they're in bed together it's a free for all and they act like crazy's!!

My boys were sleeping together from before my DS2 was 12 months. Was never an issue :)

My brother and I have five years between us, and I occasionally snuck into his cot when he was a toddler - though sometimes he was in Mum and Dad's bed and I was alone anyway :lol:

Our intention has always been to move them into the same room once DD2 starts sleeping through. But she might actually start doing that if she's in bed with DD1 rather than me or DP co-sleeping with her once she wakes up (normally around 1am).

We have a double bed in DD2's room too so I'll go and sleep in that. Lucky we bought that 4-bedroomed house then - three of us sleeping in one room :)

That is adorable!!! I would have left them too. How'd they go overnight?

My eldest 2 boys did. I would go to check on them and find DS1 had left his room and climbed into the cot with DS2. I ended up moving DS1's bed into DS2's room. They have shared a room ever since

I love the idea of my boys sharing a bed. How did they go?

I often find my 2 in bed together.. (2 & 4 yrs)

It works until DS wants his space (he like space, DD likes to snuggle).. I also find top and tailing them works wonders when we are in a strange environment.. They love the comfort of each other, but still have space...
