yep, I had to avoid onion, garlic, cabbage, spicy foods too. It didnt last long, maybe a couple of months.
Yes I'm finding this this time around. So far chocolate and cabbage have made my easy going little boy anything but...
I havent noticed anything obvious this time but last time i found diet coke wasnt ds' friend. I cut it out & found some improvement quite quickly & was able to reintroduce it maybe 4 or 5 months later with no ill effects. I found that cutting things out didnt necessarily cure the wibd/colic early on - because i think that nany babies go through a period of adjustment anyway but it cab help reduce it a bit (just imho)

Dairy. DS was a colicky, farty, stinky, grizzly, non-sleeping boy until I cut it out and was a different baby within 2 weeks. Have tried to reintroduce several times since, only to be met with wailing and wind pain, so I'm sure it's the culprit for him.
Onion, cabbage, coke, chocolate, coffee and cauliflower with DD2.
With DD1, nothing.
The effects are pretty immediate, so once I don't eat any of te above, then the issue resolves.
I've cut out onion, garlic, chilli, tomato (acid), chocolate (caffeine & sugar hit), capsicum & broccoli (ruffage veggies that are hard to digest) and now dairy...
Within a 24 hours I've noticed a difference
Tabbouli, cabbage, chocolate (I can have a little bit but not much) and coffee are the main ones. The coffee and chocolate is more because of the caffeine than anything. Thankfully it usually clears within 24hrs if I have eaten something that's upset him.
Just thought I'd add to this... we noticed a longer delay between eating the problem food and the reaction. I was starting to doubt it was actually dairy because of this. The Pead told me that it just depends on where they're having the reaction. He said that with dairy it's often an inflammation of the lower intestine, so it takes 24-48 hours to get there and then the inflammation to start impacting. He also said that once the gut is damaged, it can take a week or two to settle again so results of cutting out a food may not be immediate. Worth keeping notes in your diary on what you're eating and when your LO is worst to see if you can see a pattern. Good luck... colic sucks!
