Ideas for DD's 4th Birthday

I've decided to be smart this year & start planning her present/s early & possibly buy as we go, so some ideas I have:

1. Her own cooking set (pink mixing bowls, mixing spoons etc) & giving the girls their own cupboard in the kitchen.

2. Scooter - she loves 1 her cousin has & spent all night on it at a birthday recently

3. Dress Ups - need ideas on what & where though, don't want to spend a fortune.

4. Proper Babycino cups & a frother??? Where can I buy these?

5. Kids cookbook - ideas on a good one?

She won't be getting all of these but I need ideas, what else for a 4yr old?

I'd probably go with the cooking stuff and cook book - no suggestions on a book for her though! she helps you cook all the time so having her own stuff would be spesh for her

DS1 my plan for his birthday is a proper bike (currently has 1 with a handle things) and bits for train set to add to it.

My DS is getting a talking Jessie doll and a little tikes basketball set for his fourth birthday.

Iz got a new bike from nana and a Cabbage Patch Kid from mum last year. This year she is getting new bedding from mum, and I was thinking of taking her somewhere like build a bear from us.

You can buy those little whipper things for froth from most homewares places hun, I think they are pretty cheap and run on battery. A proper one that goes with a Nespresso type machine can be bought separately too - they work well but might be too excy for what you want!

My DD loves cooking too and for her fourth birthday we gave her an apron, chefs hat and a pink mixing bowl with her own wooden spoon, spatula, whisk. She absolutely loves them!

She also got one of those masterchef kids cooking packs from her grandparents (the pizza one) which comes with pizza tray and cutter and recipes. They are a bit exxy though I think for what they are and you could make up your own for cheaper.

You can get some pretty cool dress up type clothes, hats, bags, gloves etc from Op shops. You could put a heap of them into a trunk or box for her.

I've never seen or heard of babychino specific cups, at my work we put them in espresso cups. You could probably get some at General Trader, House or Matchbox. I have heard that Aldi sell milk frothers.

I love the cooking kit idea! Spotlight have some really cool kid sized utensils and bowls, otherwise there are kids Masterchef kits but I've found they're a little on the pricey side. DD has a kids cookbook called Woman's Day ABC of kids cooking. It goes through the alphabet with a recipe for each letter. SOOOO COOOL!

Buy a set of espresso glasses ZF. You can get them from Target, KMart and even some $2 shops. They are the right size for babycinnos.

Was talking to the coffee guy at the Farmers market, and he sells Espresso keep cups (you know the ones for takeaway so you don't have to get a disposable takeaway cup every time) in bright pink and purple and he said that 90% of people buy them for their kids to have baby cino's in and he uses them with his kids at home as don't break. I have just used espresso cups bought at op-shops (as have broken a few).

A lot of markets sell costumes for kids. Prices vary (a LOT!). I've seen a costume pack at Toys R Us before, had a heap of stuff in it.

Check out the $5 book shop in Greensborough for some kids cook books. I got a princess one for DD there once and she loves it.

Re dress ups - go to spotlight and grab 4 or 5 1m lengths of fabric from their specials table (often only $2 or $3 a meter) they can become capes or blankets or skirts or scarves or anything that the imagination will allow.

ZF - my cousin has a shop that sells keep cups, all sizes and colours. She gave my kids junior keep cups for Christmas - I'll bring them next time for a look.

Ohhh cool, I like the idea of them.
Was thinking of the cute cup & saucer sets... Hmmm so many choices, would be great to see them.

Oh yeah, then check places like House, I had a Maxwell and Williams espresso set that was brightly colours cups and saucers with sheep on them. Would have been perfect for kids. Think I threw it out!! :wall:

M&W aren't expensive either.

Yeah there are some cute M&W sets on e-bay but i think i can get the sets from a store just as cheap by the time you factor in postage.
I had a few more ideas.

1. Kids knife - i started a thread a while back so will find that and get ideas.
2. DP's mum got some cute silicone cupcake moulds in bright colors for the girls at easter (just used them for DP's b'day) - i could get her some cute silicone bakeware
3. Canvases & paints
4. More barbies - steering clear of this though if i can

I saw something yesterday and thought YES brilliant but now can't remember what :wall:
What other ideas can you throw at me?

She has a bike, she has 12v quad bikes, 12v gator, trampoline, easels, barbies etc etc
