Neurofen ad/teething necklace

The latest children's Neurofen ad has a bubba with an amber teething necklace on it. When I first saw the ad my first thought was a bit cynical as I saw it as a marketing strategy to be all like "baby may wear the necklace but you're still gonna need medicine" but instead I have been presently surprised. All that seems to have happened is they have grown awareness for teething necklaces! I am constantly getting stopped and asked about ds's necklace because people saw a baby on an ad wearing one and they wanted to know what it is for/what it means. So I tell them, and I make sure I add that I've never had to use any form of baby pain relief medicine because of it lol :p

Ive found exactly the same thing. I was sitting at home with dedicated_mummy the other day and we were wondering why would they need nurofen with the amber?
Yet got stopped 4 times in the supermarket yesterday to ask what the boys necklaces were

Well I guess when your baby is teething your game to try it all. I still have to use both actually about ready to give up on the necklace:think:

DD has a necklace but still needs a homeopathic relief and sometimes nurofen.

Both my kids had/have the necklaces & both still needed panadol & nurofen & teething gel. My kids have tough gums :lol: I have got heaps of questions about their necklaces too. I do think they help especially in the moving stage but they don't work much during the cutting stage.

I havent used them yet, but have seen them. Can someone explain how they are meant to help/work?

Little_O amber has properties for pain relief when worn next to the skin for the 3 of mine that have them we very rarely use.nurofen only to bring down fever

I love being asked about my DS's necklace because I love telling people what it does and how my DS's teeth have come through with very little panadol/nufofen. Most people think the baby/toddler chews on them, it's quite amusing :) I think it's great that the company is using the necklace in it's ads to raise awerness about it, even though it's on a bottle of madication! There was an article in the paper recently about Miranda Kerr's baby wearing it (and a picture of course :)), a lot of parents will now be asking what the necklace does ;).

Do they help the teeth come through or is it mainly the pain they relieve?

Mainly the pain. Ive had the boys on from around 3.5 months when they came out of hospital

My DS did chew his Miss.B! He managed to break off one of the beads and had it ground into a fine powder. It took about 3 seconds :shakehead:

Oh no Rowellen! The only time DS was chewing on his was very recently but he was sort of playing with it in his mouth not so much crunching his teeth on it. That's why the gunuine ones have the knots between the beads so they don't all fall off if the thread is broken by chewing. Would have been scary to have one chewed off in 3 seconds! BTW, I stepped on my necklace once and broke one bead in half, I just sent it back and they repaired it for me, no cost.

Lleyton chews his (as much as you can chew with 3 teeth) his gets caught behind his bottom 2 and it looks like he will rip his teeth out trying to get it out so today ive wrapped it around his ankle

MrsS, that's what I used to do with DS before he started wearing it around his neck.

Isaiah's seems to be too short for him to be able to get it in his mouth, even if he desperately wanted to...I think anyway, who knows what he would be able to do if he desperately wanted to do it lol.

If your child can chew it then it's too big. You can get shorter ones.

The twins ones are the smallest you can get its just because they are so tiny
