Cost and Medicare

How much did it cost for your DS to get done?
Did you manage to get much on Medicare?

It cost us $700 to get DS done at 9 months old.

I wasn't aware we were entitled to anything back from Medicare so didn't claim but my friend did when she took her DS for his recently and I think she got around $150 back.

The doctors who did our boys charged it to medicare at the surgery and we just paid the gap.

I had DS done at 8w I think and it was $590 and I got $100 back from Medicare. The before and after consults were rebateable just not the actual procedure. HTH

DS was admitted to a private hospital and was circumcised under GA at 12 months. He was circumcised for medical reasons and had a couple if investigative procedures done at the same time. It was completely covered by our PHI and we don't have an excess so didn't cost us a cent.
