60th Wedding Anniversary - letter from the Queen
Just wondering if anyone has organised one of these before? My Grandparents will have been married for 60 years next month and I'd like to organise a letter from HRH and also the PM for them. Any tips? How long did it take? Did you have any issues? I've read the "official" website for Aust and know I need to send everything to a Federal Member of Parliament... but am looking for tips and advice....
thanks!
MG
60th Wedding Anniversary - letter from the Queen
I did it in Jan for my in laws. You just go to your local MP & fill in the form & provide them with a wedding cert or stat dec. you can have it returned to you or sent to them directly on the day or before. It was very quickly organized. For 60 years you get one from the PM & one from the GG. The hardest part for me was finding a present for 60 years.
60th Wedding Anniversary - letter from the Queen
Queen doesn't send a letter until 70 years of marriage. I looked into that one for my IL too.
Lol at the divorce papers.

Yes my IL were disappointed a little as they would have preferred the Queen to Julia I think, but none the less it is fantastic gift & very well presented.

My apologies was just looking again & it does say for 60 years now. When I ordered my IL in Dec last year we were advised for 70 years onwards by our Federal MP's office. Will have to check it out now with IL too see if they would like me to get this one too. Thanks for making me recheck :)
I think they may have been giving the wrong info as it says 'The Queen is now sending letters to those couples who didn't receive a letter for there 60th Wedding Anniversary'
