Does anyone have any milk to donate?

Things are getting worse in terms of my milk unfortunately :( I have to concede that I need to get DD more milk somehow. She's eating as much solid food as we can get her to, she's feeding lots but the milk just isn't coming like it needs to, she still depends on BM as her main source of nourishment. So, if anyone has any milk they could donate, it would be appreciated and cherished. DD is almost 11 months old. I'd rather get milk from someone I 'know' here on BB than a complete stranger. I'm hoping to get to at least 12 months by myself, but it's at the point now where I need that milk in the freezer, just in case.

Another question, does anyone know whether motilium can be taken in pregnancy (everything I've read said it's untested, so no). What's the name of that pharmacist guy (lol!) here in Melb who helps mums with medication info?

Just a FYI in case it comes to it... you can make your own formula which is far preferable to the tinned powder. Google "Sally Fallon Formula Recipe" and it comes up.

You can take maxalon and that has a similar effect to motillium.

DD wouldn't drink EBM so I use it on cereal for her. But I do give her an organic goats milk formula and rice milk. Like you I didn't want to introduce it but my supply decreased too. And now it's only colostrum she still feeds heaps though.

I have a stash of EBM in the deep freezer si when the kids give me a chance I'll get out to the garage to check the dates on them for you.

Will you transition to cows milk at 12 months, or could you start a little earlier?

I'm in. I'm not sure of how to get it to you either, but I'll do my best to pump pump pump until we can sort that out. Here's hoping my boobs co-operate, I haven't pumped in a while :(

Thank you lovely ladies. In relation to cows milk, I would, but DD still drinks milk as her main source of food, she's not a huge eater, so milk's it for her. As far a I was aware, cows milk isn't very nutritious, or at least compared to BM? I've got an appointment in an hour to get a script for motilium, I called Rodney Whyte's department and the lady said it was fine to take, so I'll see how that all goes.

Have you been in touch with a paediatric dietician? You may find ways of fortifying cows/breast milk with a little more cals/vitamin/minerals or work out ways to increase her solids intake. Hopefully she'll work out how awesome food is soon!

I checked my freezer and the stash of milk I have in there is from a month in 2009. I remember now that I kept it (rather than donating it) just in case any of the kids got a skin condition/rash/bites so that I could give them a milk bath (there's a lot of milk there, lol). Probably not good for drinking now...

If you get desperate though I do have some milk in the freezer that is much more recent. It's not as much though, but if you need it then you are welcome to it :)
