What was your first Beta HCG result?

Just curious.

To all those who have had a successful cycle, what was your first beta HCG result (number-wise)??

How many days past transfer/ovulation was it?

Not sure if you're interested in natural pregnancies, but mine were 42 (about 4 weeks) - this ended in a miscarriage and 179 (around 3w 5d) - resulted in DD

With Charlie I was something like just over 70 at 13dpo, 8dpt.

N2L it was 2069 at 19 days post-fertilization (14 days post transfer of 5 day blastie). I just went back in time in the forum to find where I posted that :)

Mine was 396 at 16 days past the trigger shot, so I'm guessing 14dpo.

213 15dpo (13dpt 2x d2)

Mine was 103 at 10dp3dt and then 711 at 14dp3dt!!!

120 at 10dpt of one day 5 blasti.

27 at 16 days post IUI

With DD1 at 16dpo (14dpt) it was 480 at 19dpo it was 2,038.

With DD2 (current pregnacy) it was 233 at 15dpo (13dpt).

why are we asking??

1st preg 5-6 weeks 26000 something- was blighted ovum
2nd preg 5-6 weeks 2629 - so far all good, Dr said thyroid levels still a bit up so could be why 1st so high and this 'normalish'

The reason I was asking was to determine the day that you can reasonably determine an IVF cycle hasn't been successful through hpt testing.

For instance, if, say the average HCG at 14dpo (whether that be 9dp5dt or 11dp3dt) is 100, then going by the theory HCG doubles every 48 hours or so, then if you get a bfn on a 10mui hpt on 10 or 11 dpo or later, then there's a very, very good chance that the cycle has not been successful.

I did got my first lot of two line at equivalent 12dpo (9dp3dt) and the second line was VERY faint using super dooper sensitive tests. I honestly don't think that I would've got that second line had I tested the day before.
I so want that second line to come up for you this time round

Sorry hun, I had a stash of them but can't remember. Would need to go and peruse the different boxes to jog my memory. I THINK it could have been an early first response one (I know the pg tests we use at work measure down to 25 which wasn't sensitive enough for my liking so I am guessing this reads lower?). It is a bit weird though because at that stage, I would guess my hcg would've been about 100 - 150 but the line was still extremely faint, like twisting test from side to side faint so it does make me wonder how much bearing the sensitivity has on the actual hcg reading iykwim

Yup, remember that feeling of despair all too well and you would think by now, I could actually start believing that it is true. God our minds can play crap tricks on us :rolleyes:

I'd say by 12dpo, using a sensitive HPT, most pregnant women will get a BFP.

There are always exceptions to the rule though. In particular, if you start talking about FETs, I've seen some very low, slow-rising hcg levels result in a healthy child, which might mean those mums didn't get a BFP until after 14dpo. That doesn't happen so much with fresh IVF, IUI or natural pregnancies though.

Another thing to consider is that, while 100 is the average for 14dpo, some are higher and some are lower. The number might only be 40 at 14dpo (but then go on to double niclely). When would you expect a +HPT then? Have you checked out betabase for the range of beta values by DPO?
