Extreme tiredness
I find myself needing to nap a lot more nowadays. I don't recall ever being tired at this stage with DD as i was manically nesting. Start of the week i'm alright but come wednesday i am just so extremely tired. I have no energy, i get snappy and cranky easily. I have between 1-3 hour naps everyday with DD and make her have one with me.
I'm sure its 100% normal, growing a baby is not an easy task. But i sleep a good 9-10 hours a night so its not that im getting little sleep.
Not sure what the purpose of this thread is.. perhaps a vent or if anyone else feels/felt the same way.

I could say exactly the same thing. Feels much, much more physically and emotionally demanding than I remember with my other two, although I was 11 years younger when I was pregnant with my first, maybe its age too lol.

Felt the same way, 100%!! The difference is this time you have a toddler to run after, added onto the baby that you are carrying and that relies on your bodies nutrients to grow. Sleep when your body tells you too and eat well too. Exercise, is hard to begin, but once you start it WILL give you that natural burst you might need :)

I just like a sloth most days, my house looks like a bomb site but i go to clean and within a few minutes i have to sit down. I managed to get a bit done today but needed a 2 hour nap.
I would love for nesting to kick in right now!

I'm definitely in the exhausted club. But napping is not an option both due to work and the fact it seems to mess with my overnight sleep on weekends. I do find myself just slothing out whenever I get a break. Absolutely nothing mentally intensive gets done anymore unless I've already procrastinated it to the last possible moment!

You don't have low iron/other vitamins (like B vitamins) or a hormone imbalance or something do you? Have you had a full blood count recently? I always get low iron when I'm pg and after birth and it really takes it out of you.
-
Yep definitely check your iron levels, very common in pg for them to be low. but rest, plenty of fluids, good foods and gentle exercise should help too. growing a bub is a very big job. x

I had very low iron levels with DD which explained a lot but this time i was told they were normal. I may request another lot of bloods to be done. Fortunately i have antenatal today so will have a chat.

I'd say enjoy it while you can! Pregnancy insomnia is in full swing here! Very jealous!
Good luck at your appt today, hun!

Yep talk to your doc/midwife but I have had the extreme tiredness thing on and off all pregnancy. When I was still working earlier in this last trimester I'd get home at 4, sleep till 6/630 have dinner and potter around then be in bed again asleep by 930 only to get up at 7 feeling exhausted again. Even when I stopped working it sometimes happened. This is my first bub so no toddler but I did work full time and then moved house so I've been busy (different busy I know :) ).
Growing a human being is very demanding. Rest when you can Hun!
