Carrying a toddler
Hi! I am looking for some suggestions on a sling to use to carry one of my girls. They are 15 months old. I am currently using a Baby Bjorn which they have almost outgrown. I mainly use it to put one girl in, while carrying the other on my hip when taking DS in and out of kinder, or running into the shops to grab one or two items.
So - mainly looking for something that is very easy to put on (or at least quick), not sure if I would be after a front carrier or prehaps something I can side carry, and also not too expensive. DH seems to think that now the girls are walking, 'they'll be able to walk by themselves soon'. Sure - the busy kinder car park would be an excellent place for that  Would love if you could help me out with some products to research!

The ergo will carry them until 22 kgs, can't recommend it enough. I know it seems a but tricky but with practice is quite easy to use and definitely worth the $$ IMO. I carried DS around the zoo when he was 18ish mnths old and he loved that he could see over the fences.

If you're only wearing one at a time, I'd go a HugABub. Put it on before you leave, and you only need to pop bub in once you're out of the car :)
Sent from my iPhone, probably while a toddler sits on my head.

I second the ergo! I can still easily back carry my almost 3 yo DS1 and I love it to front carry my DS2. It also has a hip carry, but I haven't figured it out ye!

DD is 18mos and I'vve recently purchased a walkabout ring sling. DD and I love it! I use hip carry, I think it would be easier to use if I didn't have a 35w tummy in the way. :)

Love the Ergo here too, I very easily wear my 27 month old DS in it either on my front or back

I have a couple that I love. One for front and back carries is my Baby Hak O-snap. It's longer in the body than an ergo but same sort of wearing/adjustment. I carried a 4yo around Ayers Rock and the Olgas. It's very comfy.
I also have a ring sling (a Sakura Bloom) whick is fab for quick side carries. Can carry my 3yo still quite easily.

Ergo! Even with a dodgy back I still carry DD regularly at 12 months.

Ergo here as well. Loved it great carrier easy to use and comfy.

Any SSC like an ergo. Manducca are supposed to be good. I love my pikkolo. The hug a bub was great when my babies were small but as you carry the whole weight in your shoulders it's not so comfy for a big baby and I wouldn't put my toddler in it. My ergo/pikkolo/SSC's however carry my 4, 3 and almost 1 year old regularly. :-) there is a baby wearing group on Facebook where they sell lots of second hand carriers. Often there are good bargains. Baby wearing buy swap and sell I think it's called. :)

I still carry my 3 year old in his Ellaroo ring sling. Love it to bits!

I have a Manduca, goes to 20kg. I totally love it.

For my toddler I have a Boba2G which is fabulous for a more structured carrier. Or I just use a wrap if it is for a shorter timeframe (but it defpends if you like wrapping or not). Or I have an obimama Mei Tai, which is my absolute favourite for carrying my 2.5yr old. SSSooooo comfortable and if I need to I can also wrap the baby in the wrap straps and carry both at once. A Mei tai with wrap straps is a nice happy medium between wrapping and a full buckle carrier. But it really does come down to what you prefer in a carrier.

Definitely recommend checking out the BWBSS (Baby Wearing Buy Swap Sell group on facebook); but just be warned, it opens up a whole new world, and can be very addictive once you discover all the options available. ;)
-
BWBSS being addictive = understatement of the century! Can also recommend asking if there is a local babywearing group near you, as often you can try out a few different options before buying your own. We have put 20kg almost 4 year old in a mei tai very comfortably, and you can even tandem with them if you're keen :)

Thanks for all your great suggestions girls! Will do some researching when the kiddies are in bed. And thanks for the buy/swap suggestion - I am already bad enough with the MCN pages so this could be another dangerous thing to happen to my bank account :)

I would second the Boba2G nice and comfortable to wear, DS happily fell asleep whilst I did my food shopping today.
