DH & I are finally starting to do our renos :D but I have no idea on paint colours and I mean none, LOL!!! We are doing this to sell our place so we are wanting to keep it fairly neutral.
The carpets/blinds are going to be brown/mocha colour so we are after a paint to go with that. Door handles are the metal ones, I think it's brushed silver?? See absolutely no idea what we're doing :rolleyes:
So what colour is good for walls/window frames/doors??

I'd go an off white for the walls, and close to the carpet colour for the trims.

We had similar colours in our old place & we've just reno'd this one & have done similar colours again. We used Antique White USA on all the walls & trims. Let me know if you want pics & I can send you some. If you have a look at my mobile pics on FB there might be some of the house.
Hog bristle - dulux I think. In 1/4 or 1/2 strength.

We have puppy throughout ours and get lots of nice comments on it. We have brown carpet and light brown blinds and it matches lovely.
the two most popular paint colours in australia are antique white usa and hog bristle. you really can't go wrong with those two.
China white and we used beige royal in the kitchen :) antique white sills and skirtings :)

We have whisper white through most of the house - walls, doors, frames and ceilings.
Our lounge/library is full strength hogsbristle. DH's office and our bedroom are ecru. The ecru is a beautiful colour that is richer than white but subtler than the hogsbristle
If you're going a neutral sort of colour, use the same colour in either full strength or half strength of what your walls are on your ceilings. It makes a huge difference to the seemless sort of look, and the good old white ceiling sometimes clashes with other off whites.

We have solver lillium on the walls and doors/window sills - we have brown/mocha carpets and coffee bamboo floors and it all ties in nicely, well we think so :)
I was going to suggest Ecru as well. I think it a nice beige colour, which seems to go with all things modern :)

We used Grey Pebble 1/4 strength on our walls and the 1/2 gloss on the skirt and doors. We have the same mocha floors and brushed steel highlights through the house. I found it difficult to find a colour that wasnt "yellow based" and made my tiles look funny. The grey pebble is a lovely warm, but pale neutral colour. The only thing I was told to be careful of was, if you have the "cream" colour window frames they are yellow based and if you use the warmer neutrals it makes them look old and yellowed. We had our window frame colour custom done, so it wasnt a problem :-)
