I have a sore throat. Started yesterday. That's my only symptom.
It feels like there its a coating of some kind of my tonsils and they are red. It's making me feel really unwell but I have no other symptoms. Does that make sense? Just wondering if I should go to the doctor or wait it out?
Have you got some anti bacterial Strepsils? They don't taste the best, but they should knock it on the head.

I'd wait it out, at least till u have some cash just incase they prescribe something for you as u can't buy it anyway!
In the meantime maybe just make yourself a honey and lemon hot drink :-)

Yes, honey and lime would be fine. I'd also gargle crushed garlic and salt in warm water :)
yes I'd go with the soothing drink and the garlic/salt gargle. It sounds like a virus so hopefully it'll be a short lived one and you feel better soon xx

Gargle with salt water. If you can handle it, a little detol in water will help (but taste disgusting)!
