VBA2C at JJH. Possible??
Hi,
I'm in the middle of TTC #3, Taking it as it comes, happens it happens or it doesn't.
My first was a 'emergency' section. Induced 6 hrs and only dilated 2cms so they said a section was needed. Second was planning a VBAC all was good until i had problems with my placenta, (Blood clot behind placenta) fixed its self by 20 weeks but doctor didn't want to try for VBAC any more so was booked in for a section.
So i am now looking into hospitals, doctors, OBs, Midwives that will support me in a VBA2C. Ive herd JJH do?
Im on the central coast of NSW. If you know of any of the above close by to me please let me know :)

Sorry do you mean JHH in Newcastle???? I had a vbac there last year and they were great. I think I remember from a c/s meeting I attended that they encourage all to try for a vbac unless there are extenuating circumstances. Giving their maternity section a call and asking them would be the best way to find out :)

Yes i mean JHH in Newcastle! oh wonderful i will have to have a call thank you :)

JHH used to be one of the best places in Australia to VBAC as the head OB there was very pro-VBAC. He's moved to a Sydney hospital now but I think the culture & knowledge remains.
ETA: Or was that breech? In any case I think they would be worth asking about their policies :)

Meow you're talking about Dr Bisits and he was wonderful. He was pro breech and pro vbac and yes the culture and knowledge have remained. He was so good though and one of the reasons is he used to break the hospital rules :) the midwives loved him for it.

Seeing you said that you were TTC but not pregnant yet......just a suggestion that you have a bit more of a gap between your bubs.... I know that one of the biggest factors when a Dr is supportive of VBAC or not is that that scar is no too new. I think they like 2yrs between birth and pregnancy as research suggests that this is safest..... Not being negative against your VBA2C at ALL. Just want you to arm yourself with the best knowledge and physical strength to get the birth you want!~
Also remember that no one can come to your house, drag you to hospital and cut you open....so een if you cant find someone supportive hospital wise, with the help of an IM and Doula and your DH you can have the birth you want at any hospital!!!
