Particularly aimed at ladies with a 'patio over the playground' IYKWIM!
Also any suggestions for where to get a huge and long tank top - they never seem to be long enough, and if I can't cover my unfortunate camel toe - the whole reason I'd be going to the gym! - then I know I'll never go out in public.
Men's plus size section? That's where I get a lot of my 'maternity' clothes from ;) Nothing comfort or roomier than a men's size 28 tshirt :) They're pretty long too, and I'm sure they have singlets too.
Gosh, I didn't even think of that! I might nick something from Dad's wardrobe, he only wears the same 2 shirts all the time anyway :rofl:
Big w seems to have a few things as well - well, my local one has plus size sports wear. Slazenger plus another brand or two (can't remember names).

Just nicked a shirt from Professor. He absolutely swims in it, but it fits exactly how I want it. Not thinking about that, just happy I've found something.
He won't be though, he only bought it 2 weeks ago :rofl:
I wear a sports compression singlet (I got mine from Kmart) which is awesome! stops the boobs jiggling around heaps which is helpful when running or cycling, or anything really! Lol
I used to then wear a loose shirt, old ones of OH's, but now I tend to wear another singlet (just a normal one, not conpression) over the first, again to help with the boob jiggle lol. And then I wear 3/4 length tights either the normal ones or sports ones (tbh I can't really tell the diff, other than that the sports ones seem abit tighter and abit more supportive itms)
But I definitely agree with the men's plus size section! I found long singlets are good at Jay Jays, perhaps even maternity singlets from places like target or Kmart? They're always longer and still comfy!

I've layered, eg baggy cotton shorts over top of bike pants/leggings. Big w has some exercise gear in larger sizes. I try not to fret, everyone else there is obsessing over what they look like too.
A pair of Target trackies and a t-shirt... Really, nobody cares what you wear because nobody there is paying any attention to you or even looking at you. They are too busy doing what they are there to do. A gym is not really a place you stare at other people, so try not to worry. All you will do it over think it and put yourself in an uncomfortable headspace. Trust me, you are the last thing anyone else in the gym is thinking about or looking at. ;)
I get the trackies from Kmart or target plus section and city chic has some longer singlets (albeit a bit expensive-- but I buy them during the sales) they can be a bit fancy there. But I find if I buy the cheap tshirts and tanks they don't last long before the quality is noticeable.
As for people looking - I just tell myself that they are looking at me with pride and awe that I'm doing something to help myself - usually makes me feel better (and I too reckon its probably us larger girls that are doing the looking rather than the rest of them anyway!)
Best thing I ever did was start by going to step into life classes. Smaller groups and supportive environment. I made new friends as we all helped each other. It was great. I tgi to a gym now (more cost effective!) but have also invested in PT which is great and the trainer helps me feel more co didn't by teaching me how to do it properly AND pushing me - so I'm doing more than what smaller girls can do. Which makes me feel good about myself.
But I digress ;) the other place I go is big w - good section of larger sized sorts clothes and in summer the tanks ate good cause they are longer - funny cause I think sometimes they make large sizes too long (I'm fat not tall!!) and other times they make them too short (gotta account for bellies dummies!)
Good luck! I'm proud of you! Once you get started and into a routine it won't seem so awful.... (I will always hate exercise and sweating - yuck - but I can get myself there now - and I feel better when I'm exercising. It's taken a while. But it can happen!! ;) xx
Second BigW and Kmart for cheap bike pants/leggings. I grab a tshirt from the mens section as I find the ladies too short and fitted!!!
Well done Keike!!!! If you get a chance go and try a Sh'bam class - daggy dancing to loud music. I can't dance but love it and have seen some great results so far, plus it is a great mood enhancer.
I wear a long shirt, and invested in some thick pants from target, which stops the camel toe issue :)
