ABs.. do I or don't I?
DD3 had a chest infection over the past 2 weeks. Had her on one course of ABs & she seemed to be getting better. Nose went from green to clear, fevers settled etc. But the cough didn't really go away. Its not as phlegmy as it was, but its still there.
We saw the doctor on Wednesday just to check her over. Her chest sounded ok, but the cough. He decided to leave a script at the desk for me & if she's still coughing today I can go pick it up & give her another course of ABs.
Last night she & DS were both flushed in the cheeks again, the cough is still there, but still not a wet cough. Her nose has gone from clear back to green again. No real high fevers if any (don't have a thermometer, will get one today!), but woke choking on phlegm last night, sounding croupy.
So how do I decide? With no fever there's no infection is there? I could probably see if he'll have a quick listen to her chest, but the only doctor in quite a big area, he might not have time.
Being Friday I might fill the script & keep it in the fridge in case she does need them over the weekend. My 3 week flu just started to get better & is back feeling worse that it was, so hers is probably doing the same
I guess I just answered my own question, hey...

:-( Aww, your poor little poppett. I don't know much about fevers and infection, whether or not they go hand in hand but I'd get the script filled and play it by ear. Perhaps call nurse on line and see if they can give you some tips to make your DD more comfortable at night??
