Who studies FULL TIME?

Wondering if anyone studies full time study load and is the primary carer of their kids as well?

Thoughts, experiences... How do you find it? What is your situation? What falls by the wayside?

I am trying to work out if I am able to do 30 hours next semester or 20. I will have DD1 in kinder and will be able to put DD2 in FDC 1, maybe 2, days a week. My work hours are totally flexible. I really just want to knuckle down and get this thing finished, but just wondering if I am totally crazy or if anyone else studies full time hours as well.

Sounds full on, i would er on the side of cortion for this and suggest 20 hours. But Im met a driven type haha

My caseload is deemed full time but I do it via correspondence so it's a bit different to being on campus. The semester just gone I was working full time, studying, looking after dd who is type 1 diabetic and being pregnant!

I did as much as I could when dd was at her dads or asleep but did struggle a fair bit (I couldn't do anything at work as it isn't a work related degree, but would often type assessments and research during my lunch break). It was also hard as our tutor was completely hopeless and would often reply to queries well after assessments were due. We finished over a month ago and still waiting on things to be marked.

Can you start off with 20 hours and see how you go? Then perhaps increase.

This coming semester I will again be doing 2 units and will have a newborn to contend with (uni starts on my due date eek!!). I however won't be returning to work until hopefully I have completed my degree, but time will tell.

My last study period I did 2 units, only one was particularly reading-heavy, and I wasn't single (although he was FIFO), and it was ok - but DD2 was tiny, not a tornado! lol
It is off-campus, and I have no other commitments really aside from the girls... I am trying to avoid having to do more than 1 unit in the summer hols/Christmas study period, as DD1 will be home FT, and the units I want to do are only offered SP3 or I will need to wait another 12 months to do them. Hmmm.

Lime, i am doing a fulltime load which is four units. it is extremely full on at times, but i manage to get through it. housework is what suffers though. Ido a lot of really late nights.

Lol thanks. I'm on my phone so I can't see the ages of your DD's but have you looked into Centrelink's JET child care facility. Might help over the Christmas period and give you some breathing space.

I only have 2 semesters per year thankfully so get a decent break in between.

Another studying full time, 4 units, I'm doing one unit off campus and the rest on campus this trimester so that will be interesting. It can be quite busy juggling kids and classes but I've worked my timetable so I only have to be on campus 1-2 days a week, one of those being a full day 8am-4pm and the other being a "study" day where I'm able to concentrate. I also have teaching rounds to contend with as well. I find the thing that suffers the most is the housework, especially when I have assignments due. I don't do late nights however, I go to bed early and get up around 5 - 5:30 and do my work then as I find it easier to concentrate when I've slept a little, but different things work for different people.
It is definitely doable though.
