Professor just showed me the sizeable scratch he got on his foot while catching a chicken yesterday :wall: Given that he got it from a chicken wire fence enclosure, with actual chickens, I'm guessing he'll hafta get a tetanus shot.
This may be a dumb question, but will he be able to drive after? If not, I'll hafta move some stuff around so I can take him....

Absolutely, he'll be fine to drive but the injection site will hurt A LOT for the following couple of days.
DH and I had our shots again before we went traveling in 2004. We had a funny but painful time pushing each other in the arm afterwards! It was surprisingly painful but the nasty pain didn't kick in until that night and the next day. OMG, the next day! I thought there was something wrong. The pharmacist I checked with laughed at me! Lol.
Yep, you can drive. I rode my bike home after the last one.
They last ten years, so if he's had one in that time, he'll be ok.

I had one whilst in hospital with Mack (along with whooping cough shot), and my arm is still a little tender! He will be fine to drive, I think he just needs to hang around for 15mins after he gets the injection, to make sure all is okay.
You can get a tetanus shot that hurts less than the traditional injection.....I'm a sook with needles and paid the extra few dollars to skip the pain that everyone tells you about with it, I never felt a thing and drove home from clinic and back to work.
Just give him some panadol before he goes and he'll be right (placebo more than anything but blokes seem to need that - well it works for my DH lol)

He was fine - I expected a big honkin needle, but it was tiny! We'll see how it feels tomorrow ;)
