Shoes smelling like wee

A few days ago DD1 came home from daycare in undies. DH picked her up and didn't think to ask or check so I didn't realise until she wet herself. Now can't get the urine smell out of her shoes. I've handwashed them twice and rinsed with disinfectant, left them on the line overnight and in the sun the next day. They still reek.

Any ideas?

Maybe baking soda would absorb the moisture and deodorize the shoes??

I'm looking for ideas too; except I've got sandals that reek of wee and they're leather (or suedo leather)

I chuck stinky shoes in a bag and put them through the washing machine. The bag protects other stuff.
Vinegar in the rinse water helps.

I'd put them in the washing machine too. They dry pretty quickly in front of the heater.
