I know it sounds dumb..
..but Im a little jealous of DD2 when she eats her puree. We just started a couple weeks ago as she was very ready and interested in food. I just miss exclusively breastfeeding..and feel a little sad that its no longer just me that she needs. Is this normal? Could the solids cause a little hormonal drop as well? Im feeling really blue about it :(

 I don't know if there is a hormonal involvement but I felt exactly the same way with both kids. I'm feeling it even more so knowing that my second is over one and and is starting to completely wean himself :(

I don't know about affecting hormone levels, but progressing onto the next level, as it were, could definitely make us feel a bit superceded. I am sure I felt the same way with my first two with their bf. I also feel sad when they grow out of one size of clothes onto the next, because they're growing up. It's okay, but talk to an expert if you need.

Thanks ladies. Its not a horriblely unbearable feelings..just more like you said..like when they grow out of sizes. It tugs at my uterus and makes me want another baby which I know isnt the correct feeling I should be having. I need to just be happy with my girls for awhile and accept that they grow up!

TM we've not started yet but I suspect I'll be the same. Also I read that the hormonal drop that comes from weaning definitely can cause depression or just the blues. It's not widely researched but there are lots of personal stories about it online etc. but is your little one weaning yet or is it solids in addition to her usual BF?
