SPD?
I can't figure out if this is 'normal' pregnancy aches and pains or something I should follow up. With DD I had this level of pain and discomfort, but near the end, not halfway through! My lower bak aches and aches and aches, my hips hurt and often it hurts to lie in bed or roll over, my vagina area aches and feels tender and under a lot of pressure, and it is getting increasingly difficult to lift my legs (say to put on a pair of pants, it's getting difficult...with DD by the end DH had to our my pants on for me!) and I have really terrible restless legs. I also have a fair bit of pain trying to part my legs past a point, and my hips pop often. I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead at the moment so feeling a bit large lol.
Tonight something very embarrassing happened which made me go wtf?? DH and I were having an argument and I yelled at him, in doing so, I completely wet my pants. This has NEVER happened to me before. Since having DD sometimes if I laugh too hard, or sneeze more than 3 times in a row I might lose a few drops, but tonight I completely wet my pants. I've decided to make a super conscious effort to do my PF exercises more often now, but it did freak me out that it's all of a sudden so weak!
My midwife is sending me a tubigrib so I really hope that relieves some of this pain. How do I follow this up if I do think it's something more than just feeling a bit sore?

perhaps because your pregnancies have been close together your body didn't really "harden" back fully from the last lot of hormones?
The unfortunate pee incident happens to alot of us, pfm exercises will really help during pregnancy and hopefully save it from happening afterwards too. pantyliners where my best friend :)
restless legs are dam awful but are made worse when u are lacking a mineral- magnesium perhaps? your midwife will know.
stretching and slow exercises like yoga really help.
sorry you are feeling uncomfortable
Sent from my Galaxy with the barefoot princess covering me in kisses, so please forgive the mistakes

SPD?
I'm not sure what it is cos I never got it checked out but I was exactly the same with bubs number three! Back pain where I couldn't even roll over in bed and it would shoot down into the backs of my legs when standing or walking.
The aching in my vagina and it always felt hot eapecially when lying down, it was terrible ;-(
I knew the back pain into my legs was sciatica but I have no idea about the other problem.
Mine went away after birth but just wanted to
Say I know how you feel and it's hard to enjoy the pregnancy! I am saying its normal pregnancy related problems but it won't hurt to get checked out by your Ob or midwife!
Some heat packs on my back and back of thighs worked and I even put a cold ice pack down "there" one time as I couldn't sleep and it helped ease the aching and hot feeling!

Bit better this morning, but still ouchy, especially when I need to part my legs at all. Seems to hurt more at night.

I think you tried a physio before? I've had severe SPD and have seen a few so can recommend you a good one if you're interested. She's in East Melbourne.
I'm not absolutely sure from what you've described whether you have SPD or not - certainly if you're having problems lifting your legs, then it could be.
Ice can make a HUGE difference - particularly at the end of the day. Get an ice pack and put it wherever's hurry and yes that means between your legs.
My current physio tells me that not many people can tolerate ice on their back so maybe a heat pack instead.
You can also get a support belt. Tubigrips are alright but I found the belt better.
If you go to the physio I saw, they will also get you doing clinical pilates to strengthen your core.
Mine was particularly severe because of a bad birth first time around (don't fall for the line that 'it just goes away' - mine hasn't five years later), so you might want to read up on optimal birth positions - check out the Pelvic Instability Association's website.

I did see a physio for muscle separation last time, I still do those exercises and they're okay. The main thing I'm noticing today is the groin and upper thigh pain, walking, sitting on the loo, lifting my legs is all quite sore and stuff and is hard to do. I'd love info on your physio, that'd be great :)

this has inspired me to do my pelvic floor exercises!
Hope you work it out.
