Ways to ease coughing at night
DD is in the last stages of a cold atm and has a lingering cough. Through the day she is fine and doesn't cough much, but last night she coughed and coughed, and often ended up either gagging or vomiting. My kids are almost never sick, so we're not overly prepared for when they are. I sent DH out at 1.30am last night in search of Vicks Vapour Rub cause I've heard some of that rubbed on their feet works, but nowhere he went had any left.
So, in the daylight hours while the shops are open I want to be better prepared for another night of coughing... DH, DD and I are so tired.
Does the Vicks Vapour Rub on their feet really work? Or would we be better buying a vapouriser? We're in Tassie and the air is really cold at night which I guess is what is triggering DD's coughing.
TIA

I find chest rub on feet (we use a badgers one and it smells divine) works for ds, but whatever triggers dd's cough seems to be knocked out with a dose of panadol.
