27/8/2012 - AndiE's third son has finally arrived :)
After keeping us waiting almost two weeks, Rory Matthew joined the family this morning at 12.15am, a healthy 4.5kg and 57cm. He's BFing beautifully :dance:.
While needing an induction, it only took one application of gel to get things moving. Long story short, I thought I was labouring beautifully only to be told I was still only 1cm dilated three hours after the gel was inserted. I was told the synthetic prostoglandin caused the feeling of contractions, but wasn't actually doing anything to the cervix. Feeling a bit deflated, I was advised to go to bed on the ward for a sleep and DH was advised to head home for a snooze. Just one hour later my waters broke spontaneously and I was in full-blown transition. I couldn't believe the speed that it all happened. So less than 40-odd mins later, DH made it back to hospital just in time for bub's head to crown and just a few pushes later DS3 arrived.
It was fast and furious in the end, but ultimately I had another incredible, empowering drug-free, hypnobirthed labour.
