Another thread has me thinking. About toilets. And bathrooms. And etiquette.

Specifically, about bathrooms at your workplace, library, places you might go to a lot.

Do you use them?

Do you #2 in them?

Do you *cough* break wind in them?

Do you look under the stalls to see whose shoes are in there?

Do you talk to people while in there?

If you're talking to someone when you go in, do you continue the conversation?

Do you change the roll if they're empty?

Do you change the roll if they're *almost* empty?

Do you change the roll so that the paper goes *over* and not *under*? (spot the Type A ... spot her!)

Do you use your phone while in there? This may be linked to the #2 question above ...

So many questions. So little time.

Do you use them? Yes, I'm at work for up to 12 hours sometimes. If I didn't go, I'd burst.

Do you #2 in them? Nope. I will feign illness and go home then do that.

Do you *cough* break wind in them? Again nope. If I have to, I will walk somewhere where there isn't anyone around. Stairwell, for example

Do you look under the stalls to see whose shoes are in there? Eew, no!

Do you talk to people while in there? Only if it's someone I know well. Otherwise it's a curt nod and pained smile.

If you're talking to someone when you go in, do you continue the conversation? Nope, plenty of time once we're out. This is not however the case with girlfriends in clubs etc

Do you change the roll if they're empty? Nope, there is usually a second roll. If there isn't, I leave and find a stall with a sufficient roll in it. And yes it means I check the roll before I do anything else.

Do you change the roll if they're *almost* empty? Nooooo

Do you change the roll so that the paper goes *over* and not *under*? (spot the Type A ... spot her!) No, but I do at home. And sometimes are friend's houses.


Do you use your phone while in there? This may be linked to the #2 question above ... No. Unless it's Rouge on the other end. She's heard me peeing before.

Do you use them? Yes, if the alternative is exploding all over the walls or wetting myself.

Do you #2 in them? Only if absolutely necessary, and I will utilise a courtesy flush in case anyone walks in, and will suspend all activity until I am alone again.

Do you *cough* break wind in them? Only if I'm alone, and if one happens to sneak out, I will wait for everyone to leave before coming out of the stall.

Do you talk to people while in there? Nope, don't ask, don't tell.

If you're talking to someone when you go in, do you continue the conversation? Nope, finish conversation, then focus on the job at hand.

Although pee on the seat annoys me because I know it's there because someone was too precious to sit down in case their bottom catches a cold. Just sit down, people!

Do you use them? Yes but only if I really need to and I never sit on the seat.

Do you #2 in them? I try my very hardest not to. I have left shopping many times before I have finished to go home instead though. I also wont use a loo that has evidence that someone has done a #2.

Do you change the roll if they're empty?Yes, if I can't find any roles I always tell whoevers house we are at that there is no more paper. I will also tell someone who is going into a public loo if there is no paper. I always have tissues in my bag for such occasions.

Do you change the roll if they're *almost* empty? Sort of like previous question, I will tell person it is almost out if there is no more paper anywhere to be seen. I hate it when my DH leaves a small amount of paper on an old roll on the bench. So wastefull.

Do you #2 in them? Yes, that is what toilets are for. - I have no problem at work (one big toilet room, no stalls), prefer not to with public ones mostly due to lack of soap for hand washing, but hey everybody poos and I do suffer from IBS so often have little choice when out.

Sometimes. I find many low flush toilets these days are just crap and often take 2 flushes. Honestly, I just don't get too fussed by it these days.
One past work place one lady complained that someone was not flushing and not using toilet paper!! Poor love obviously had not come across the concept of a 'floater'. Made me paranoid in the toilet after that, I would not go in if I saw her go in and then I would always wait till fully flushed and then double check 3 or so times.

Had a similar conversation at work last week with a colleague who will not number 2 at work or virtually anywhere other than home....anyway....

At my work we have unisex toilets, though there are all female staff. We only have two and they are at opposite ends of the building, so we don't have a stalls scenario. You're in there alone with no one near you.

Yes - always - I have no toilet phobias at all.

Yep if need be - got to admit, I dislike havingto do it at work incase someone else smells me!

Misread initially - I don't anywhere other than at work or church. At church it's because if it's in the thing the wrong way, the paper doesn't roll and you get tiny bits of paper at a time. The cleaner is a man and I figure he has no idea that it's a pain in the, well, butt and other areas!
