Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for nappies for tall toddlers, DS wears mainly Itti bitti larges but he's got brickies cleavage in them, all our other larges or osfm are the same or shorter rise than the ib. what brands are longer in the rise? He's not ready to toilet train yet (stubborn beast).

You will probably have more luck from the boutique WAHMs than with the high volume brands. Sorry my youngest has been out of nappies for 1.5 years now so I'm unfamiliar with what's out there but the beetle bums pockets were good if you can get them.
I started having to make them for my DS because of fit problems. Too big for med but not big enough for large ;) I got a honeyboy pattern and put an extra two inches in the length and it was perfect for him. If you're not the sewing type, then maybe ask the WAHMs for customs.

I found tuttos useless for the longer rise....just in case you were thinking of trying those.
Yeah tuttos aren't any good, neither are issys, designer bums, and a couple of other osfm. I am the sewing type but I just don't have the time!

when my child was in nappies, Itti bitti was known as a brand that favoured children with a low rise.
it's not so much about the height of your child, as the height of their rise. (I had a short child, who needed medium to high rise nappies).
to measure rise: get a tape measure (sold at supermarkets or spotlight or big w for $2)
at next nappy change time, after you've cleaned up your child, get that tape measure out.
START at their navel.
take tape measure down, under their legs, over the buttocks and STOP measuring, at the small of the back.
You have just measured your child's naked rise - to help you when buying fitteds, all in twos, all in ones, pockets.
Put a nappy on your child and measure the rise again, OVER the nappy.
Now you have a CLOTHED RISE measurement, so if your child is in night nappies, and you need to buy a night nappy cover for example, you will have the measuerements for that too.
Once you have your rise measurements, write them down, have them handy so that when shopping for nappies, you can either COMPARE your child's rise measurements (to those on the nappy site, nappy specifications page) or email/contact the WAHM/site owner and say - i'm considering this nappy, what is the rise measurement please?
It's ok to buy a nappy with rise measurements a bit MORE than your child's (your child will grow) but avoid buying nappies that have a rise measurement LESS than your child's (cos they will be too small for your child).
High rise nappies are great for sleep time btw, regardless.

i found the word "trim" often confused people when buying nappies.
Some people used the word trim, to mean "low rise" - as in fitting under fashionable clothing
Other people assumed the word trim meant a thinner all over nappy, as in, not bulky
The english language has so many possibilities. Easier to sort it out via email BEFORE you press "ADD TO CART".
