4year old is worse than 2 yr old!

They say terrible 2's is bad! I'm convinced that 4 yr old is worse!!
DD1's attitude is doing my head in! The screamning, the attitude, the tantrums OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im completely over it at the moment. I'm a bit lost on how to deal with this.

Naughty corner has never really worked that well for us. I tend to remove her from the situation to a quiet place until she is ready to be nice and cooperate. I'm trying to take things away from her (her wii games, favourite toys), I have not let her have her favourite foods that she likes.
I'm over it. I'm worn out. This last couple of days I have just wanted to put her in her room and leave her there. She isn't nice to be around generally at the moment.
She doesn't generally have a sleep in the day anymore, i still make her have quiet time though. We put her in her bed between 7.30 and 8pm however despite all our best efforts, she doens't go to sleep until about 10pm. Shes usually awake about 6.30/7am.

Please assure me it gets better. What else can I do? I'm tired, frustrated and over it.

It does get better but I have found it does goes through phases. My 6 year old went through a horror period recently. So enjoy it when they are having a 'good stint' lol

I hear you. My four year ld is horrendous right now. He will break down in a sobbing mess for the most ridiculous reasons. And tantys.....woah baby! I am just trying to weather the storm, be consistent, give cuddles when appropriate and not give in to his outrageous expectations!

Yep - 4 can be bad. Mine is a sooky cling monster who only screams what she wants (when she can speak) and she also torments her older sister constantly.

Thank god others have the same problem i thought it was mine having effects of the 50 : 50 care .... but obviously not really

Yep my DD is very similar.

She won't let anyone do anything for her except me. Which while I am sick as a dog and exhausted is extremely frustrating.

She whines at the drop of a hat about nothing and when she can't find a immediate reason as to why she is upset she brings up things from weeks ago.

She is slowly getting better but still very much a mummies girl.

Oh so glad I found this thread! DS is 4 in January and he is like my cure sweety until he does not get what he wants or it's time to pack up. At the park today I felt all eyes staring at me as he is screaming at me, punching me it the face and clawing at me and climbing up me. I knew he was past reasoning so I hung in there and tried to cool him of comforting him. He did calm down later and I just sat in the car and wept quietly to myself. Much later he said out of the blue,"sorry for punching you." I just cried and hugged him. I am so glad he remembered and acknowledged his bad behavior. Its comforting to know this is normal. Funny thing is I don't get angry I just get sad as he is breaking my heart. in fact I have been sad all day since.
