When DS, 11w, starts to feed he will grab a handful of boob near my armpit and clench and unclench his fist until after let down.
Is it something I should be stopping or not?

Does it hurt? If not I'd leave him to it.
Clever baby - he's helping your milk let down. Amazing how they know how the breast works
Barb's got it (of course :) ) - him touching your breast helps the let down! Let him go for it :)
Ds is 19 months and still does that to help my letdown when he is in a hurry lol. Or he tweaks the other nipple hahaha. I would go with it and enjoy the cuteness of it hehe.
My DS2 is also 19mths and still does it. My MCHN told me it was to aid let down to happen quicker. He also kneads my chest sometimes, kind of like a cat does when they like being patted (itms!). So cute. Unless it annoys you or hurts, I wouldn't worry.
All mine did this at the breast, they would paw and push on it and it was really cute. Pups and kittens will do it too. It's a natural instinct.
It doesn't hurt, he does scratch sometimes...
I think it's pretty cute how he does it, and also jams his little fists into me. He's pretty cute.
As gorgeous as it is, I didn't want it to be 'wrong' and then have to correct it later.
You will have to change things overtime anyway. I go with whatever works for now is good.
i think it is pretty cute, and clever! too.
If he gets scratchy, just pop a sock over his hand.
